The Katina Woodruff Children's Foundation

The Katina Woodruff Children's Foundation The Katina Woodruff Children's Foundation exists to repair young lives and to help with the unique challenges of child immigration.

The Katina Woodruff Children's Foundation exists to repair young lives and to help with the unique challenges of child immigration, a traumatic transition affecting many children in Australia. The Foundation supports children within Australia in rebuilding their lives following past or current trauma, adjusting to a new language and culture and building skills to fully participate in Australian li

fe and their community. The Foundation offers its services free of charge to schools who have students in desperate need of support. The goal is to enable the children as well as their families to continue their successful transition following the completion of intensive involvement in their lives and homes. Today, we met to celebrate the life of Dr Robert Woodruff, who left us so suddenly a year ago, on 10 April 2025, while helping others in Papua New Guinea.

Though we miss Dr Woodruff enormously, he lives on in our hearts. We feel his presence and guidance deeply at The Katina Woodruff Children's Foundation.

Despite this devastating loss, the essential work of the Foundation in supporting young children who are recently arrived refugees and immigrants continues. ❤️❤️❤️

Board members Peter Bowler and Donna West were privileged to attend the Telethon7 Perth Giving Celebration 2026 recently, where stories of courage, strength and kindness inspired all attendees.

We are honoured that The Katina Woodruff Children's Foundation is the recipient of a Telethon grant for 2026, helping vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Western Australia.

This is Katina. Children see Katina for help with:

* Moving to a new country (Australia) and understanding a new culture.
* Getting used to new sets of cultural norms and values at school and in their communities.
* If needed, processing difficult experiences in their lives.

After their work with Katina, parents and teachers say the children are:
* Happier and more relaxed.
* Confident in themselves.
* Proud of their cultural strengths from their first culture.
* Can make closer friends because they can understand their new cultural setting.

Did you struggle when you first moved to Australia?
