Halls Gap Community Association Noticeboard

Halls Gap Community Association Noticeboard The Community Association of Halls Gap is the modern name of the former Progress
Association whose origins date back to the 1920s.

As such it continues a proud tradition
of contributing to the wellbeing of the local community in a variety of ways. Since it is an incorporated, not-for -profit association its primary role these days is to act as
an umbrella organisation for various groups and activities, of which the Community
Produce Garden would be one. It has run the Grampians Wildflower Show for 75 years and
recently ran th

e Halls Gap Film Festival for 5 years. The Grampians Film Society, which
meets monthly, the Walking Tracks Support Group and the creation and continuing
development of the Grampians Flora Botanic Garden all come under the auspices of the
Community Association. The Association has been involved in the recent creation of the Halls Gap community
website and its ongoing maintenance. Over many years it has contributed substantial funds
to the building and subsequent upgrades of the community hall. Three books on the identification of wildflowers and birds, produced by one of its members,
are published by the Association. The funds which it raises from this and its other activities
are used to improve any aspect of community life that is deemed worthwhile. Grants of
money have been given to bodies such as the Primary School, community garden and the WAMA wildlife arts museum.
