Last Tuesday, we lost one of our true greats. It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Charlie Cover, a beloved President, mentor, teacher, and friend to so many in our community.

Charlie served as President of the National Sheep Dog Trial Association for ten years, leading with vision, dedication, and an unwavering passion for the National Championships and everything they represent. His commitment to preserving the history and integrity of our sport helped shape the National into the premier sheep dog trial in Australia.

But Charlie was so much more than a leader. Countless triallers owe their start, or their continued success, to his patience, generosity, and willingness to share his knowledge. He was always there with encouragement, a quiet word of support, and a good story.

His legacy lives on through the outstanding dogs he bred, the people he inspired, and the enduring strength of this community that he loved so deeply.

On behalf of the National Sheep Dog Trial Association, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Bow and the entire Cover family. Our thoughts are with you.

Rest peacefully, Charlie. Thank you for everything you gave to our sport. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate Charlie's life.
