Last night the Northern Region SES Awards were held. Ingham and Halifax groups picked up the award for Regional Operational Response of the Year for their extraordinary resilience, teamwork and dedication during the 2025 Floods. Local Controller Dan Cordner was also awarded the Regional Member of the Year for his contribution.
Congratulations to all awardees, nominees, SES volunteers & staff, and many thanks for all you do 🧡

Come along to an information night where you can learn about SES and what we do, and if that interests you, you can sign up on the night.

Where: Ingham SES, corner Menzies and Alston St, Ingham
When: Thursday 21st May, 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start
What to bring: your driver's licence, blue card (if you have one), and an interest in helping your community.

Interested in joining? But you're not quite sure what you can do in the SES...

SES offers heaps of opportunities to our members. There's operational and support roles available, and a wide range within each. From operating a chainsaw, through to incident and disaster management. Community education and preparedness, through to operating a flood boat or looking after team welfare. There is a role for all abilities, you just need commitment and the right attitude. If you'd like to ask a question as to what sorts of roles are available, just send us a message!
