This week the Halifax SES group had a "back to basics" night in preparation for the upcoming high risk weather season.
Everyone went through our storm response trailer, and got some practise in the safe use of ladders. It's all part of us being prepared... 🌨🌩🌀

SES is many things to many people.

It's not always activating, deploying, training, preparing and helping our communities. Sometimes it's just like last night, a time for our members and their families to catch up over a BBQ.

If you are keen to join SES, get in touch now. We are having information nights at both Ingham and Halifax group in the next months.

And we do need to take our hats off and express a huge thank you to Frank at Galipos Midtown Meats for donating the meat for our BBQ last night 🙏🏼

Today we remember them.

On National Police Remembrance Day, we honour the police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

SES often work side by side with Queensland Police, at times in difficult circumstances.

To our Queensland Police Service colleagues, today we stand beside you in remembrance.

Last night the Northern Region SES Awards were held. Ingham and Halifax groups picked up the award for Regional Operational Response of the Year for their extraordinary resilience, teamwork and dedication during the 2025 Floods. Local Controller Dan Cordner was also awarded the Regional Member of the Year for his contribution.
Congratulations to all awardees, nominees, SES volunteers & staff, and many thanks for all you do 🧡
