🌊🐠 Did you know today is World Oceans Day? 🐢🐙

To celebrate, this Friday at Hadspen Playgroup we'll be having some fun ocean-themed activities for our little explorers!

Hopefully the weather plays nice and we can enjoy some sunshine too! 🌞

📍 Location: Uniting Church Community Centre
🕘 Time: 10-11:30am Friday
💰 Cost: $3 per family (first session free!)
🌈 0-5 year olds and their caregivers

We'd love to see you and your little ones there for a morning of ocean-inspired fun. 🐳🦀

Today at Hadspen Playgroup we had a range of activities set up both indoors and outdoors. Even though it was a chilly winter morning, the sun was shining and many children absolutely loved spending time outside! ☀️❄️ We also made paper snowflakes to celebrate the start of Winter 🥶❄️

Thank you all so much for coming along. I'm really enjoying getting to know everyone and watching the friendships and connections grow each week 🧸💕

A big thank you as well to everyone who helped pack up at the end of the session. Many hands really do make light work! If anyone is ever able to lend a hand with setting up, packing away, or even just keeping my little boy entertained while I get things organised, it is always greatly appreciated. ❤️

Wow — thank you so much for the incredible turnout for our very first Friday playgroup in Hadspen! ❤️

We had 17 young people and their caregivers attend today (please try to remember to sign in each week for insurance purposes🌈).

I didn’t manage to get photos of the different areas we had set up — I was too busy chatting! 🥹💕

There’s definitely lots for me to learn as we go, and already a few things I’ll tweak for next week! I’m always open to feedback — whether it’s things you loved, ideas you have, or ways we can improve and make the space even better for everyone ❤️

My biggest goal for this playgroup is to create a welcoming, inclusive and supportive space where every family feels comfortable, accepted and connected ❤️

Thank you again for making our first session feel so warm and welcoming. We can’t wait to see you all again next Friday!

🌈 We are feeling much better, getting negative virus tests, and are SO excited to officially start playgroup this Friday! ❤️ (Fingers crossed anyway - there's certainly a huge amount of sickness circulating at the moment 😭)

🚨 UPDATE 🚨 POSTPONED 🚨

Unfortunately, I’ve been up through the night with my baby C**t coughing and generally unsettled. With the amount of RSV and other illnesses circulating at the moment, we feel the safest option is to postpone tomorrow’s playgroup ❤️

We’re so sad to have to do this — I was super excited to get started! Thank you so much for understanding, and we can’t wait to see you all next week on Friday 29th May 🤞🌈

🌈✨ PLAYGROUP WISH LIST ✨🌈

As our playgroup continues to grow, we are looking for donations of items that could be loved and used by our little community 💛

We will put some comments in this thread of some items we'd love to receive.

To help keep our space safe and hygienic for all families, we kindly ask that donated items are:
✔️ Clean and easy to wipe/sanitise (or easy to machine wash)
✔️ In good working condition
✔️ Free from mould, heavy wear, missing parts or damage

Over the next few months, we’ll also be rotating through our current toys and resources to see what may be outdated, worn out or in need of replacing — so keep an eye on this thread if you’re interested in helping support our playgroup 🌈

Hello everyone,
Playgroup was due to resume tomorrow however due to sickness I am unable to run it tomorrow. I was hoping our household would improve over the weekend but unfortunately not.
I hope everyone is well and really looking forward to seeing families new and old on the 24th of March.
