Hackham Girl Guides and Victor Harbor Girl Guides 100 Years camp photos.
On Saturday, after cooking their bacon and egg sandwiches for brekky, tidying the tents and making our bedrolls The younger Guides 8-12 year olds and Leaders, walked into Victor Harbor along the foreshore, stopping to play at the Train playground, before heading over to Granite Island.
The older 13 years and over meanwhile, stayed at the hall, made pizzas for lunch and then went to and escape room in Victor Harbor, went to the lolly shop, before joining back with the younger units at the hall for afternoon tea.
On Granite Island, we climbed "a mountain", noticed dragonflies, caterpillars and birds also enjoying the Winter sun.
We looked for whales, talked about migratory birds, and whales before sitting on the grassed area near the cafe, some of us practiced cartwheels, we saw dolphins, and the tram horses.
Heading back along the jetty, we enjoyed rolls from Subway for lunch, in the memorial garden and wondered how old the tall pines were.
A walk into Victor Harbor, $5 limit to spend in the The Lolly Shop, thankyou to the very patient gentleman serving, before heading back along the foreshore to the playground near the skate park, then returning to the hall for afternoon tea, nature craft, colouring, and just chilling and chatting with new friends.
Dinner of Bolognese, then a sing around the campfire followed by apple crumble and custard, then a very welcomed bedtime, maybe that was just the leaders π€£.
Sunday morning was pack up camp, Guides Own, morning tea then home.
A massive thankyou to our volunteer Leaders and Unit Helpers for your time and energy Fri to Sun. from Hackham : Bluebird, Munyoo, Tingira, Dolphin, and from Victor Harbor : Chat, Kookaburra and Mintaro.
We hope your Girl Guides enjoyed their camp, for many, it was their first time in a tent, and away from home.
For those unable to make this camp, there are always other opportunities to camp. Check out Friday Frenzy, there are a couple of opportunities coming up very soon you can attend even if your unit/leaders are not, check Girl Guides South Australia Inc. Website events for registration and details.
