Our Tuesday comps don't get a lot of recognition but it's a great opportunity to fine tune our games in readiness for the more serious Saturday comps. It's a privilege enjoyed by our retired members, those of us who still have to work look on with envy.
Yesterday was a win to the Cowboy Ray Hopper. He managed 40 stableford points, not sure how he managed that along with a negative drug test. Captain Ted got second after a countback, he and Lawrie were all locked up on 37.
Andrew and Donny each landed a NTP.
So it was a most enjoyable morning and sure beats working.
A bad day at golf is always better than a good day at work.

The August Monthly Muddle has been decided and it took 3 play-off holes to break the A grade deadlock. Erik and Fred both finished with a par 54, round and neither would wave the white flag in the tie-breaker. Eventually Erik got the break and the monogrammed water bottle.
The B grade was taken out by Neil on 58 with Rose 3 shots behind.
Andrew with only 28 putts got the Jockey Club Hotel voucher while Captain Ted dropped the long putt on his first attempt. So the Gunabul Homestead voucher went straight into his pocket.
The most excited winner on the day was Luke when his ticket was drawn in the meat tray raffle. Ironically he doesn't really have a poker face.
The President's Day and Painter's day are on the horizon and dates for those comps will be locked in very soon.
Our trip to Boonooro has been put back until Sunday November 15 to enable both teams to be at full strength. It's a great day out and the Boonooroo Crew always go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The lunch they put together is epic. So circle that date on your calendar.
That's it for this week.

Don't forget Saturday is the 4 Mile Quarries monthly muddle. Much more than just an engraved water bottle is up for grabs. Each of the putting comps has a voucher. Fewest putts gets the Jockey Club Hotel's voucher while the longest putt gets the Gunabul Homestead voucher. To top it off there's a mega meat tray from T& C Family Meats and pizzas for lunch. Where else would you rather be? So get to Gunabul early, have a great morning, enjoy the hospitality, friendship and the endless BS.
New members are always welcomed with open arms, come and join the conviviality.

Captain's Day has been run and won. The top three were separated by less than a stroke. While the self-appointed unbackable favourites Lumpy and Cowboy were 7 strokes off the pace, what happened boys? Over confidence often ends with embarrassment.
Neil and Rose with 49.75 will have their names on the trophy and look resplendent in new t-shirts. While Luke and Don were only .25 behind unfortunately they will have to ponder what could have been. The third spot went to the Captain and the Caddy aka Ted and Colleen on 50.5.
Glenn and Fred had to go off-road to find their best ball, where did the other one go?
It was a great roll up and I'm sure everyone had a great time.
Not sure what's on the menu for next Saturday, could be stableford off the white. I'll let you know when I know, but rock up anyway. You know you'll have a good time.

Tomorrow is Ted's day, formally known as the Captain's Day 2 person Ambrose. There's a little extra cash and a few extra prizes up for grabs, as well as a couple of t-shirts, and your names will etched in club history on the perpetual trophy.
Perhaps you'll be first to grab the $100 for the pin shot on 3.
Another "Mega Meat Tray" wiil be won after another gourmet barbecue thanks to T&C Family Meats.
So find a consenting partner and have a great game.
While visitors are welcome to play, only full members are eligible to win.
I've added a few pics of our Club Captain along with a couple of things you probably didn't know.
Ted is an A Grade golfer who also enjoys stamp collecting, crochet, heavy metal music and long walks on the beach at sunset with his lovely caddy Colleen.
Just an all round good bloke.
New members are always most welcome, come and have a chat.
We make golfin' fun.
