This day honours the resilience, strength, and leadership of rural women across the world.

From raising livestock and growing food to passing on traditions and holding communities together, rural women are often the backbone of agricultural regions.
When it comes to the Ag Show movement, rural women from every part of Queensland are at its heart.

They’re volunteers, stewards, competitors, judges, educators, innovators — and quiet powerhouses in their communities.
Whether they’re baking the winning sponge cake, stewarding the cattle section, mentoring young showgirls, or leading a committee — their impact is both visible and deeply felt.

Here’s to the rural women of Queensland!

Wow it’s kind of hard to put into words my experience at the Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards. Just Phenomenal!

We had a jam packed week of professional development from the get go. Hearing from amazing speakers and empowering women like the Douglas sisters, Lisa Hewitt and Deb Frecklington.
We visited Parliament and Government House, spent time at the Ekka, had an etiquette lesson, got to know our fellow rural ambassadors and had lots and lots of networking and public speaking opportunities.

It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, that I’d recommend to any young woman. One of learning, growth, new friendships and fun!

To my fellow Showgirls (who I now have the privilege of calling my friends) it was a blast living with you all for a week, thank you for showing what true sisterhood looks like and I can’t wait to see where everyone’s bright futures take them 🥰

Grace and I popped into the Kilcoy Show this weekend, it was a lovely day and we loved their BnS Ute display - especially their Dolly’s dream one 🦋
