Thank You for Showing Up 🤍

We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Mental Health Event for Business Leaders.

Your willingness to show up, be present, and be part of such open and honest conversations is what made the day so special. It takes courage to talk about the real challenges we face, and the support in the room was something truly powerful.

We’re so grateful to be part of a community that backs each other, lifts each other up, and is willing to have the conversations that matter.

Mental Health Event Business Leaders | Event Wrap-Up

What an incredible afternoon of real conversations and real support.

Our Mental Health Event for Business Leaders brought together a powerful group of people willing to open up, connect, and have honest discussions around the challenges we face in business and everyday lives. The vulnerability, support, and shared experiences in the room were truly impactful.

A huge thank you to Craig Hamilton for sharing his story and leading such a meaningful conversation, and to Anytime Fitness for being part of the day.

We are so grateful to our sponsors Whitehaven Coal and Wilderlux for helping bring this event to life and creating such a beautiful space for connection.

And to everyone who attended thank you for showing up, being open, and supporting one another. This is exactly what our community needs more of.

Today, our Executive Committee met with Council to discuss key issues affecting our local business community.

We understand many businesses are feeling the pressure around rising costs, development applications, and navigating council processes. These challenges are real, and we want to ensure your voices are being heard.

We’re currently exploring the idea of hosting a practical workshop to help small businesses better understand and manage these issues with the aim of creating clearer communication, support, and solutions.

We’d love to hear from you:
👉 What would you like to see more of from us and Council?
👉 What support or information would be most valuable to your business right now?

Your feedback will help shape what we do next.

Today I met with Craig Hamilton, and from my perspective, it was one of the most important conversations we’ve had around mental health for our local business community.

We spoke openly about the real pressures business owners and leaders are carrying burnout, isolation, financial stress, staffing challenges, and the constant responsibility of holding everything together while still trying to show up as a strong leader, including those working in mining and the agricultural space where these pressures are often amplified.

What stood out most to me was how grounded and practical his approach is. He doesn’t just talk about mental health he speaks to the realities of day-to-day life, the subtle warning signs, and how burnout can quietly build over time, and why open, honest conversations really matter.

This meeting has helped me shape and tailor our upcoming mental health event so it genuinely supports our local community focusing on real conversations, practical tools, and connection, not surface-level discussion. I’m incredibly grateful for Craig’s time and wisdom, and I’m really looking forward to bringing his voice and experience to our community in a meaningful way. 💛
