An afternoon spent planting Namoi River eroded banks. Plantings consisted of pinrush, sedge, lomandra, river red gums, native mint, river cooba, black tea-tree, river oak, belah. More planting to do this week. 65 plants in all. A big thank you to OzFish who paid for the plants.

Two days.

Warrah Creek Hall (near Tamworth). Kevin Elmy and Mike McCosker.

The farmers who are coming to next week's event aren't waiting for anyone to fix this for them.

They're smart. They're proactive. And they are done handing their margins over to input suppliers.

They're ready to brew their own fertiliser, understand what's really happening beneath their feet, and build farming systems that hold up, whatever input prices do next.

As Mike McCosker puts it:
"The most resilient farm in your area isn't the one with the biggest fuel tank. It's the one with the healthiest soil."

That's what this hands-on event is about.

See you at Warrah Creek. 🌱 April 9/10.

Spent the morning planting some replacement Silky Oak, Eucalyptus and Boab trees on the other side of Cohen's Bridge. Then treated them to a good dose of Seasol and watering to help them adapt to their new environment afterwards. A big thank you to Tony Bernays for digging the holes by hand which in this dry weather nearly broke the crow bar!

A couple of Gunnible Landcare members attended a great little workshop on a property out near Marys Mount yesterday. Run by the Local Land Services, Clancy Lester educated us on the many interesting facts and habits of our native pollinators. After a delicious morning tea, we all made native bee habitats to take home. Thank you to everyone who made this a very enjoyable morning.
