Whether you’re just getting started with a young dog or looking to fine tune an experienced worker, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn from a renowned working dog trainer.

Join David Motley for two full days of practical, hands on training covering stock handling, dog training techniques and building a better partnership between you and your working dog.

This school is open to handlers of all experience levels. Come along, learn new skills, meet like minded people and enjoy a great weekend with your dogs.

🐕 2026 Gulargambone Working Dog Trial 🐕

Just a few details for competitors and spectators ahead of the weekend.

🔹 Ring 2 (Maiden/Novice)
Judges talk will commence at 7:15am, with competition starting immediately afterwards.

🔹 Ring 1 (Open)
Judges talk will commence at approximately 7:45am, with competition beginning straight after.

The Open event will run through the first half of the draw before taking a break to allow the Junior, Encourage and Local events to be held in Ring 1. Once these events are completed, the Open competition will resume and continue through the remainder of the draw.

We look forward to welcoming competitors, handlers, families and spectators for a great day of working dogs, community spirit and friendly competition.

🐕 Gulargambone Working Dog School is back for 2026

Join well known kelpie breeder, trainer and stockman Dave Motley for a practical day focused on getting the best from your working dog. Whether you are starting a young pup or looking to gain better control and confidence with your dog on stock, this day will cover real skills you can take straight home to the paddock.

The day will include demonstrations, hands on learning and plenty of time to ask questions about handling livestock, positioning dogs and working stock calmly and effectively.
