1st Grovedale Scout Group Scrap Metal Collections The 1st Grovedale Scout Group collects scrap metal at its hall as a fundraiser for its group activities.

You are welcome to leave scrap metal at the back gates of our hall and we will transfer it to our bin and sell it to raise money to support our youth.

A huge THANK YOU to all our supporters out in the community helping us with our scrap metal fundraiser. The statistics from 2025 are in and we are so proud and grateful! This is the best fundraiser that our group has and it feels so good knowing that we also kept nearly 87 tonnes (1480 cubic metres) of metal out of landfill last year. We couldn't do it without your help though and we appreciate all the support you have given over the months. Please continue to spread the word about our scrap metal collection. We have a bin at our scout hall in Perrett Street in Grovedale and we can also organise some collections for local homes and businesses.

Huge news - we have raised over $10,000 through our scrap metal fundraiser so far this year with 7 weeks of 2025 left to go! A massive thank you to all of you who have donated scrap metal and to all our volunteers. You are helping to support so many activities for our youth members throughout the year. And think of the amount of metal that we have prevented from being dumped into landfill as well! A little announcement to let you know that, if you need assistance with unloading your scrap metal into our bin at Perrett Street, this can be arranged - but you will need to contact us first to organise. A huge THANK YOU to all our supporters out in the community helping us with our scrap metal fundraiser. The statistics from 2024 are in and they are amazing! This is the best fundraiser that our group has and it feels so good knowing that we also kept close on 90 tonnes of metal out of landfill last year. We couldn't do it without your help though and we appreciate all the support you have given over the months. Please continue to spread the word about our scrap metal collection. 1st Grovedale Scouts is excited to announce that it has hit an impressive milestone in its scrap metal collections: $10K raised so far in 2024! With just under a quarter of the year left to go, we are sure to smash our 2023 results!

Over 73 bins of metal have been sent to Simms for recycling. That’s a lot of rubbish that didn’t end up in landfill! And a lot of funds that we have been able to put towards our youth activities and equipment purchases.

We couldn’t have reached this target without the assistance of our loyal band of volunteers. And without the support of our local community. A BIG thank you to you all. Please continue to spread the word to your networks.

Did you do any spring cleaning or decluttering over the school hols? And do you have scrap metal that you need to get rid of now? Don’t forget you can bring it to the scrap metal collection bin at our scout hall on Perrett Street in Grovedale. We can also organise some local pick ups if you message us directly. Please spread the word across your networks! All money raised by our collections go to funding our youth activities or purchasing new equipment for the group.

Are you having a bit of a sort out of your home and yard this school hols? Don’t forget that you can take any scrap metal that you no longer need to the 1st Grovedale Scout hall down on Perrett Street. We collect scrap metal to raise money for our youth activities and for new equipment for the group. If you DM us we can also organise collections from local residents and businesses when we have the manpower. Let us help you declutter your home while supporting us in our fundraising.
