The earliest formal indication of the existence of Grose Wold Brigade is a listing of Captains and Presidents dating back to 1936. Originally meetings were held at the old Grose Wold School. The Brigade moved in to the first Grose Wold shed in 1967. This was situated behind where the current station now stands. In 1974 the shed was blown down in a wind storm, and the next shed was built. It was a

single bay with enough room for the truck and not much else. The Brigade minutes inform us that on various occasions work was performed to improve the station, this being the addition of a toilet, storage area and a kitchen sink. On more than one occasion it also had a coat of paint applied to both inside and outside. In 2002 the members undertook to build the new station. After much fund-raising and with the help of members and many businesses and trades people, the new station was opened on Saturday, 14th June, 2003. The new two-bay station includes a storeroom, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and an upstairs office and planning room. Since 1976 the Brigade has been issued with four tankers. From 1976-1995 a Bedford, followed by an Isuzu, Cat 2. In 2003 we received a more up-to-date Cat 2, and on 17th February, 2012 we received our latest brand new tanker, a Category 1 Isuzu with all the latest safety equipment, able to carry a crew of six.

Just a heads up for tomorow.

Unhappy news from Hannah Park Carols for 2026. Thankyou for the update!

HANNA PARK CAROLS CANCELLED FOR 2026

Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church has had the privilege of blessing and serving the North Richmond, Kurrajong and broader Hawkesbury Community through the Hanna Park Carols since 2012. The event is a celebration of Christmas as a community, and approximately 5000 people attend annually.

Due to the commencement of construction of the new Richmond to North Richmond bridge, the Hanna Park Carols Committee were notified that the park would be unavailable for use in 2026-2028.

Our Carols Committee have been liaising with Hawkesbury Council in an attempt to find a suitable replacement venue to continue to serve and bless our community north of the river. Unfortunately a suitable location has not been able to be identified. As a result we are regrettably informing our community and event partners that we are unable to proceed with the carols event in 2026.

We will continue to liaise with Hawkesbury Council in an effort to relaunch the event in 2027.

We wish to thank all our partners and sponsors who have generously supported the event over the years. We will continue to find ways to work together to place value on our community and be a blessing to it both this Christmas and in the years to come.

Just days before our firefighting personnel arrived in the United States, the RFS Large Air Tanker โ€˜Marie Bashirโ€™ reached an important milestone, dropping more than one million litres of retardant during its deployment.

Our LAT is currently based in Redding, California, and most recently supported operations on the Summit, Thorn and Biscar fires. Over the past month, it has dropped on more than 22 fires across two different states.

We are incredibly proud of our firefighting personnel and aviation crews, who will continue supporting our international firefighting partners and communities over the coming weeks.

Hi there. Just to keep some of our more recent Hawkesbury locals up to date with our local Emergency Services. This Brigade meets on the first Monday of the month at 7pm at our Station. Everyone is welcome to drop in and say โ€œhelloโ€. We do training on the โ€˜otherโ€™ Monday evenings as well. Other training days as specified.

Maybe you can't keep the cat a metre from the heater, but you can keep all these things, A Metre From The Heater. Take a moment to think about it.

Heaters need space. A lot of it.

Keep curtains, bedding, lounges, throws and drying racks at
least one metre away.

Switch them off before you leave the room or go to bed. Never
use outdoor heaters indoors.

Be fire safe this winter.
