🚨 BIG NEWS FOR THE COLTS! 🚨
Last night we told you something BIG was coming...
Today we're incredibly proud to share that the Greta Central Oval Amenities Upgrade has officially received the green light! 🎉🏉
After months of planning, collaboration and hard work behind the scenes between the Greta Branxton C**ts and Cessnock City Council, funding has been secured and the project is now set to move forward.
This upgrade represents one of the most significant investments in the future of our club and wider community in many years.
✅ New modern changerooms
✅ New canteen facilities
✅ Multipurpose spaces
✅ Improved accessibility
✅ Elevated spectator viewing areas overlooking the International Field
✅ Facilities designed to support both our junior and senior players for generations to come
Perhaps most exciting of all, demolition of the existing amenities building is scheduled to commence from the week beginning 5 October 2026, with construction planned to be completed prior to the commencement of the 2027 season. Seeing machinery on site and works commence will be a major milestone for our club and something many people have worked tirelessly to achieve.
For those who have been involved behind the scenes, this has not happened overnight. Countless hours have been invested by volunteers, committee members, Council staff and project stakeholders to get the project to this stage. There have been challenges along the way, but everyone involved has remained focused on delivering a facility that our players, members and community can be proud of.
On behalf of the Greta Branxton C**ts, we would like to sincerely thank Dan Repacholi MP, Cessnock City Council, the project team, our volunteers and everyone who has contributed to making this project a reality.
As many of you know, the Greta and Branxton region continues to grow at an incredible rate, and our club is growing right alongside it. Participation numbers across both our junior and senior programs continue to increase, making quality facilities more important than ever.
This development is about more than a building. It's about creating a home for the next generation of C**ts players, providing a better experience for our members and supporters, and ensuring our club has the facilities to continue growing well into the future.
While the renders attached are indicative concepts only and some details may change as the project progresses, they provide an exciting glimpse into what the future of Greta Central Oval could look like.
