Enhancing the support of the settlement, integration, growth and development of various Arabic-speaking communities from diverse backgrounds who settled in Australia. Formerly known as Melkite Catholic Welfare Association, Melkite Charitable Foundation (MCF) was established in 2001 and it is an entity of the Melkite Catholic Eparchy of Australia and New Zealand. MCF provides Settlement Engagement

and Transition Support (SETS) Programs funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and led by Settlement Service International (SSI). The SETS delivers core settlement support for humanitarian entrants and migrants in their first five years in Australia focusing on activities to assist clients to become self-reliant and participate equally in the Australian society. In addition, they provide casework, information sessions, senior support and health awareness, education, English classes and referrals to mainstream service providers.

Our Eparchy, with the support of the Melkite Charitable Foundation, will host a Fundraising Feast for Lebanon — a meal that makes a difference.

War has once again struck Lebanon. Thousands of Christian families have been forced to flee their homes with very few belongings, seeking safety elsewhere in the country.

Some are staying with relatives, while many others are sheltering in churches, monasteries, parish halls, and schools.

With work almost impossible during the conflict, displaced families urgently need support for food, medicine, and basic necessities. Through our churches on the ground, your donation will help provide immediate humanitarian relief.
