UPDATE- Walkabout Barber Grafton.

Happy Friday everyone...

Just wanted to provide an update on our Community Wellbeing event on the 23rd June 2026 at Market Square in Grafton in partnership with Walkabout Barber.

It's going to be an amazing day with support services onsite and activities to participate in plus food and drinks.

We are working through the schedule for the day and we will circulate more info about booking times for hair and beauty services being offered by Walkabout Barber early next week.

The Walkabout Barber...

Exciting news Gurehlgam is hosting a community wellbeing day in Grafton on the 23 June 2026 in partnership with The Walkabout Barber.

We will have a range of activities on site and a range of support services to yarn with.

The Walkabout Barber will be offering a range of services on the day.

Food and coffee will also be available on the day plus much more.

Watch this space for more details over the next few days.

Communities across Australia will once again come together pause, reflect and say two powerful words to the people who protect us every day: thank you.

Thank a First Responder Day is a national day of appreciation created to recognise the extraordinary service of police, fire, ambulance, SES, marine rescue, and other emergency service personnel along with the families who support them behind the scenes.

All starting at 10am ....free Flu vaccination, HEP C testing, free legal advice and if you get tested $1000 off your fine.

We will also have the censors team onsite if anyone is interested in employment as part of Censors.

Rough Sleeping is Up

More than 2,300 people were counted sleeping rough across New South Wales alone.(source: NSW Street Count) .

Behind these figures are people.

The report makes clear that this crisis is not inevitable.

We know what works:

Investment in social housing, properly funded homelessness services, and targeted responses for people sleeping rough can and do make a difference.

What is missing is the scale of investment required to meet the need.

We can all help a little by signing the petition (link in the comments) to make sure this happens.
