COUNCIL GRANT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Play Australia is excited to launch 1000 Play Streets - a national movement to help Australians reclaim their local streets and bring back street play, resulting in more active, socially connected and ultimately happier communities.

1000 Play Streets is supported by Sport Australia and delivered in partnership with CoDesign Studio (Melbourne and Brisbane), Nature Play Solutions (Perth), Centre of Sport & Social Impact at Latrobe University and select Local Councils.

Local Councils located in/nearby Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane are invited to submit an application for a 1000 Play Streets co-contribution grant (valued at $20k) to pilot Play Streets within local communities.

Pilot insights will inform the development of a National Play Streets package for Local Councils Australia-wide to support regular and sustainable street play within communities (launching in June 2020).

Know why Plastic Free July has grown from humble beginnings as an office initiative in Perth, Western Australia in 2011 to what is now a global movement? We think it's because of you! All the people who have taken on the challenge to refuse single-use plastic in your own lives and then gone on to share that message with the people around you!
