We have all been shocked and saddened by the news of the sudden passing of George Lo Shihan.
George Lo Sensei is missed beyond words, his absence felt in every corner of the community he helped build. He was a pillar of strength and a true master of his craft, teaching us that the martial way is as much about character as it is about skill. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit remains the foundation upon which we stand, and we will miss him always.
Hi All,
As you know, George Lo Sensei passed away during our aikido summer school that was to honour our 'Pioneers', of which George sensei was one.
George sensei's funeral will be held on Tuesday 20th January 2026. - details below.
The family welcomes anyone that wishes to pay their respects to attend any parts of the funeral ceremonies.
The family has also invited our aikido community to offer a tribute at the funeral, along with a collage of images.
If you have any memorable pictures of George Sensei, that you would like to share on the day, please forward them ASAP to Dennis Diaz at: [email protected]
Aikido NSW will also have a memorial training day, likely on Sunday 25th Jan, where we will have a class, and allow some time where people may give personal tributes to George Sensei.
It would also be nice to have a collage of images projected(?) as part of the tributes on this memorial day too. โ please send to Dennis as above.
