Yay !! Bobby's back in the neighborhood and he sure let all the ladies know about it last night.
Some very boisterous bellows rang out through the forest all night long.As for now it's time to catch up on a little rest and do it all again tonight.

I hate to say it… but you’d have a better chance of spotting the Easter Bunny than coming across a koala like this! 🐨✨

A huge shoutout to Christy for sharing the incredible experience her parents had while walking in Goonengerry.

This little lady is an absolute stunner — a very healthy, female that appears to have just reached maturity and is beginning her lifelong adventure, no longer dependent on mum. Nature really does have its magical moments 💚🌿

Wildlife Warriors ❤'s The Great Koala National Park

A big day today with Penny Sharpe and Chris Minns announcing Labors Great Koala National Park. First announced by previous Labor leader, Luke Foley, alongside the Wilderness Society and local conservation groups 10 years ago, the vision for the Park was able to become a reality when Labor won the last NSW election.

Today's announcement is for the full park, as promised 10 years ago.

- 170,000 hectares of additional National Park for a total of 476,000 hectares
- income and transition support for the 200-300 workers impacted
- 100 new National Parks jobs to manage the park with at least 15% being Aboriginal positions
- 8 Cultural Rangers employed by Aboriginal controlled organisations
- $140 million to invest in the park
- up to $300 million in carbon abatement, which will allow additional investment into the park
- $6 million for investment in community and tourism
- an estimated $163 million in additional economic activity into the local community

Looks like this poor chap has had a little bit of a misadventure.
Hopefully he is re united with his favorite eucalypts very soon.

🌿🐨 Unexpected Rescues with Friends of the Koala! 🐨🌿

This morning, our team had another unforgettable call-out!

A local fisherman stumbled upon a three-year-old male koala, now named Little Watego, who had misadventured far from his eucalyptus home. There he was, gazing out at the ocean at Wategos Beach, Byron Bay.

Thankfully, a joint effort between Richard Nicholas from Friends of the Koala and Mark Badgery from WIRES brought Little Watego to safety.

Initial assessments revealed minor trauma to his sternum, along with being wet, cold and showing signs of seawater ingestion. He is now resting and receiving the care he needs at Northern Rivers Koala Hospital in Lismore as he begins his recovery.

It’s just another reminder of the unpredictable nature of wildlife rescue – you never know what you'll find, but we're always ready to help. 🐾💚
