It's always hard to say goodbye to our characters. We have spent months bringing them to life, as well as fine-tuning set changes, choosing the perfect costumes (learning to play 'alpine horns'), working on sound and lighting, and even coordinating a bar, meals and the myriad of small details that go into putting on a production.

We were thrilled to have Catherine McKernan Doris, writer of Destined To Fail and A Little Of What You Fancy, in our audience. What a privilege to perform for your playwright!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to Comedy Cocktails, including our bar sponsor LJ Ho**er. This production was supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund. Once again, we enjoyed performing in the beautiful Goondiwindi Cinema & Theatre and appreciate the attention to detail from the staff.

What to expect? Following the overwhelming support for our hugely successful 2025 production of No Ill Feeling, Goondiwindi Performing Arts is excited to return to the stage with Comedy Cocktails.

Bringing productions to life in consecutive years is no small undertaking, but our passionate local performers and dedicated crew have once again embraced the challenge.

Comedy Cocktails delivers another opportunity to showcase local talent, foster creativity, and bring our community together for an entertaining night of laughter and live theatre.

This show brings together three short plays and a sketch exploring the
humour, tension, and absurdity of everyday life, from the quietly familiar to the
gloriously unexpected. Carefully curated as a tasting plate of comic styles, these
works showcase local performers and invite our audience to enjoy a playful and
engaging night of theatre.
