On Thursday morning, students from Years 3–6 at Border Rivers Christian College enjoyed a special session with artist Kate Owen. The children had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Kate as she guided them step-by-step through a sketch.

Thank you again, Kate and BRCC 🎨

Upcoming Exhibition - Meet the Artist: Jane

Jane Henry is a contemporary textile and botanical artist whose delicate works fuse traditional embroidery with foraged Australian native flora. Rooted in rural Queensland life, her practice is slow, meditative and deeply connected to nature.

Using hand-stitched banksia stamen on archival paper, Jane preserves the fleeting beauty of organic materials through meticulous, museum-approved archival methods — creating works that honour time, place and process.

Experience Jane’s work as part of Under the Same Sky, our upcoming group exhibition.
Friday, 9 January 2026 | 5:30–7:30pm

Join us and for the exhibition in the Art Space - purchase a special piece as we hear Jane is out of action for a little while (we hope you recover quickly Jane!)

Upcoming Exhibition - Meet the Artist: Samantha

Colour, movement and joy take centre stage in the work of Samantha Walton. A multi-passionate artist based in Toowoomba, Samantha brings more than a decade of professional experience across arts administration, education and events into her creative practice.

Inspired by the natural world — especially flowers — her abstract works celebrate energy and wild beauty rather than perfect form. Using mixed media including acrylic, oil pastel, collage and ink, Samantha’s art invites us to slow down, connect and see the world a little differently.

Experience Samantha’s joyful works at Under the Same Sky, our upcoming group exhibition.

Opening Night: Friday, 9 January 2026 | 5:30–7:30pm

We’d love you to join us and for an evening of colour, creativity and community.

Upcoming Exhibition - Meet the Artist: Alisha

Made where land meets light, Alisha’s cyanotypes unite photography with one of the earliest printing processes. Developed by sunlight under the open skies of south-west Queensland, each print is shaped by chemistry, water and time.

No two works are ever the same — their subtle variations and imperfections are quiet signatures of the Queensland sun.

Come and experience Alisha’s work as part of our upcoming group exhibition.
