🌱 MEET THE SPEAKER – MARTY CONROY-JAEGER
What can you do to get more production and more profit from the pasture you already have?

We’re excited to have Marty Conroy-Jaeger joining us at the Macintyre Ag Alliance September Field Day at Bengalla Station, near Yelarbon.

Marty is a Pasture Agronomist specialising in tropical and sub-tropical pasture systems, with experience working across Australia and internationally in countries including the USA, Brazil, the Middle East and South Africa.

His focus is on understanding what drives production and profitability in pasture-based systems — from choosing the right species through to pasture management and grazing interaction.

🌱 At the field day, Marty will share practical insights into:
• Choosing pasture and forage species suited to your environment
• Getting more out of your existing pastures
• How pasture management and grazing interact with production
• Tried-and-tested methods alongside emerging research
• The pasture decisions that can ultimately drive productivity and profitability

As Agronomy Manager for Northern Australia with Barenbrug Seeds, Marty brings a wealth of practical and technical experience. He also operates a small cattle trading enterprise, giving him a valuable perspective on the realities of running a production business.

Pick a cropping paddock you have with constrained soil. Are you thinking about doing something to improve it?

On Friday the 28th of August in Goondiwindi, we're running the final workshop of the GRDC soil constraints project, and it's built entirely around that paddock. You bring whatever data you have on it and leave with a plan for what to do next.

7 years of results across our core sites and multiple years of grower-run trials sit behind it, including the treatments that didn't pay. It's a small group and the research team from UNE and QDPI is at the table with you.
