On Sunday 26th July, we ran the 4th of our monthly boiler workshop days. The goal of these days is to upskill our members and invited guests from other clubs on the processes and skills involved in copper and steel boiler building, and now branched into heritage boiler restoration and live steam locomotive training.

Thank you to all who have attended these training days. They get hectic with up to 40 participants at times! It's great to see.

A great outcome!

Good evening everyone, just letting you know that we have had a great deal of success realigning and repairing our track. There is still work to do however we will definitely be operating this Sunday for our regular public running day. Please remember enclosed footwear is a must to ride the trains.
See you on the rails this coming Sunday 11am-4pm

A deplorable act against a not for profit community organisation by subhumans

On Sunday 19th April, Steaming on the Downs Inc. held it's first monthly copper boiler making workshop for members who are either working on a copper boiler project, or just planning one, to come together and pool knowledge and resources.
After an initial meeting to scope out projects we made a start with significant progress made on forming component and design discussion throughout the day. 15 members were in attendance including 4 AMBSC inspectors. Unfortunately we didn't get too many photos, we were all too busy!
These will be held monthly moving forward and in time we will make these workshops open to members from outside of our club, after all, preserving the skills and building the knowledge of heritage activities like copper boiler making is for all of us.
