πŸ’› Making a Difference When It Matters Most πŸ’›

At our most recent Rotary Club of Goolwa meeting, we were honoured to welcome Kerryn Page from the Board of Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC. as our guest speaker.

Kerryn shared some incredibly heartfelt stories about the important work the organisation does, providing essential items to children and families during some of the most difficult and critical moments of their lives.

It was a moving reminder of how something as simple as a backpack filled with clothing, toys and everyday essentials can provide comfort, dignity and a sense of security to a child when they need it most.

As part of our commitment to supporting young people in our community, Sonia, our Director of Youth, presented Kerryn with a $500 donation of urgently needed clothing, toys and essential items on behalf of the Rotary Club of Goolwa.

We are incredibly proud to support the work of Backpack for SA Kids and look forward to finding more ways to assist this wonderful organisation in the future.

A huge thank you to Kerryn for sharing the stories behind the organisation and inspiring our members with the incredible impact they are making. πŸ’›

On Wednesday, Sonia, Wendy, Greg and Tony had the pleasure of attending the Rotary District 9510 Changeover Luncheon at the iconic Adelaide Oval.

It was wonderful to join fellow Rotarians from across Rotary Moments District 9510 to celebrate another successful Rotary year under the leadership of District Governor Rajeev Kamineni and to warmly welcome our incoming District Governor Tim Mee and his leadership team for the year ahead.

The Changeover Luncheon was a fantastic opportunity connect with Rotarians from across South Australia, and look ahead to another year of service, fellowship and making a positive difference in our communities.

Congratulations to Rajeev on a fantastic year as District Governor, and we wish Tim and his team every success for the exciting year ahead. Here's to another year of Service Above Self! πŸ’›

Give what you can, give when you can.

That simple idea is at the heart of Rotary.

Rotary has changed so much over the last decade, and it may not be what you think it is anymore. Today’s Rotary isn’t about how much time you have, it’s not a business man’s club, it’s about finding a way to make a difference that works for you.

Whether you can volunteer once a month, help at a community event, lend a hand behind the scenes, or simply enjoy the fellowship, there’s a place for you.

Rotary is about:
πŸ’™ Finding purpose.
🀝 Building lasting friendships.
🌱 Giving back to your community.
😊 Having fun while making a real difference.

You don’t need to attend every meeting or volunteer at every event. We all contribute in different ways, and every contribution matters.

If you’ve ever wondered what Rotary is really about, why not come along and see for yourself? We’d love to welcome you, answer your questions, and show you what being part of our Rotary family is all about.

Give what you can, when you can. Together, we can achieve amazing things.

If you’d like to know more, send us a message or come along to one of our meetings, we’d love to meet you!

Here's to another fantastic year of Service Above Self, together let's Create Lasting Impact! πŸ’›

What a great working bee at Rotary Centenary Park today!

A big shout-out to our local members who turned out in force to help mulch, w**d, and transplant plants throughout the park. The teamwork and effort really showed, and it’s wonderful to see the ongoing transformation of this much-loved community space.

We wrapped up the day with a lovely afternoon tea hosted by Di, a perfect way to relax, share a chat, and enjoy some well-earned refreshments after a productive afternoon.

Special thanks also to our guest helper Julie for generously giving her time and lending a hand.

The park continues to evolve beautifully, bringing joy and pride to the local community with every working bee. Thanks to everyone who contributed today!
