💙 Community Notice from Goodna Street Life 💙
To our valued customers, supporters, and community members,
Firstly, thank you for the incredible support you continue to show Goodna Street Life. Every donation, purchase, and act of kindness helps us support people in our community who need it most.
As many of you know, we don't just sell donated goods through our shop. We also provide clothing, household items, and other essential goods directly to people experiencing homelessness and families facing hardship. Your donations genuinely make a difference in people's lives.
However, we do need to ask for your help with an ongoing issue.
🚫 Please do not leave donations outside the shop when we are closed.
While we understand that people are trying to help, donations left unattended often create significant problems. Items left outside can be damaged by weather, scattered by wind, or picked through by others. Once donations have been rifled through, mixed with rubbish, or exposed to the elements, they are often no longer suitable for sale or distribution to those in need. Unfortunately, these items then have to be disposed of at the charity's expense.
This not only creates extra costs for the charity but also means fewer usable items are available for the people and families who rely on our support.
We would also like to remind everyone that we do not accept lounges or large furniture items. Recently, several lounges have been left outside our shop on Sundays while we have been closed. These items cannot be used through our programs and create additional costs and challenges for our volunteers and staff to remove.
📞 Before donating larger items, please contact us first to check whether we can accept them.
We are open 6 days a week, Monday through Saturday, and our team is always happy to discuss potential donations during opening hours. If you're unsure whether an item is suitable, please reach out and ask before dropping it off. A quick conversation can save valuable time, money, and resources for the charity.
We know every donation comes from a place of generosity, and we are truly grateful for the community spirit that makes Goodna Street Life possible. By bringing donations during opening hours and checking with us before donating large items, you help ensure that your generosity reaches the people who need it most.
