The Australian Mauritian Association of Queensland is a social association whose aim is to regroup Mauritians and those with Mauritian ancestry, living in QLD, Australia - more specifically Mauritians in Brisbane and Gold Coast suburbs. Events:
We organise numerous get-togethers, picnics, dances and also participate in food festivals so that Mauritians and non-Mauritians can learn and enjoy the Mauritian culture and Mauritian food. We welcome and encourage our members to volunteer to help the committee during the events. We normally host our End of Year (EoY) Dance Night is around November/December and our Mid-Year Dance Night around May each year. Non-Mauritian friends are also welcomed to our events, provided they have purchased a valid ticket (when applicable). After all, we come from a multicultural country where everyone loves to 'tam-tam ek mette la faya'! Membership Fees:
Membership renewal fees are payable for the new financial year as from 01st of July each year. As at 30 June 2017, the membership fees for the financial year 2017-2018 are:
$15 per Adult (18years of age and above)
$30 per family (couple + children under 18years of age)
Non-Mauritian friends of our Mauritian members who regularly attend our events may also become a member if they so wish at the same price as above. Any member, page subscriber/commenter/visitor/etc are all bound by our Code of Conduct. Charity:
We would gladly host any fundraising for charity, provided that we are not restricted by Australian Law or of the sorts. Therefore, please do not hesitate to bring a good cause to our attention and we will most certainly look into what we can do and get back to you. Code of Conduct:
We will not tolerate racism, abusive or deplorable languages or behaviour, etc, during our events nor on our page. Please respect your fellow comrade and treat them with respect, which is as you would wish to be treated yourself. Any inappropriate behaviour or language found and investigated will be dealt with accordingly. Spamming or sharing malicious links, pages or anything of the like will also be dealt with accordingly. We reserve the right to delete any comments, photos, links, etc, and to remove and ban anyone found to not adhere to our Code of Conduct. Feedback and Suggestion:

We may also ask to meet with you if you are willing to discuss the matter more in depth. The Association reserves the right to amend any or all of the above without prior notice.
