It is so good to see journalists that can understand that helping even one person makes it worthwhile. Pinkenba Quarantine facility may not be a perfect solution to solve homelessness but it is better than sleeping on the streets.

I hope everyone gets behind the Brisbane Lord Mayors campaign to use this facility as crisis accommodation.

There are renewed calls to use an empty covid quarantine facility in Brisbane to help ease the state's housing crisis.

Common Ground Gold Coast was launched last night (3rd August 2022) and it is hoped that all levels of government get behind this project and many more like it. Supported housing is needed for a great number of our homeless community.

People in the homeless sector have been saying this for a long time but as yet we are not seeing any politicians willing to accept the reality and be willing to do something about it. A Government that doesnt spend taxpayers money to build social and affordable housing is only looking at the short term. We need politicians with strength to fund more affordable housing.
