Cameron Duce Forever 22

Cameron Duce Forever 22 Cameron was a fun loving young man with a big smile and an easy going nature. He was also cheeky, a joker and always fun to be around. Taken too soon. Forever 22.

He was always making other people happy with a smile, a joke or just some kinds words. He didn't take things too seriously and Cam (Ducey) just enjoyed spending time with his mates, going out, fishing or camping. A son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a great mate to many.

Hi, please take a moment to read this to the end. It is important to us and we do appreciate your time đź’™

As most of you will be aware, we are now part of Queensland Homicide Victims' Support Group (QHVSG), a support organisation for victims of homicide. Among many things they do to help, they have an awards night to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in the ways they have helped those who have suffered the loss of a loved one through homicide.

We have nominated two of the Detectives who are part of Cameron's case for their care and consideration for us beyond the outstanding work they do for the community in their day to day duties. I will add our recommendation in the comments below.

We would like to ask you to read our nomination for them in these awards, and to vote for them using the link provided, if you feel that what we have written about our experience with them holds true to your beliefs in what outstanding support really means. A "like" won't register a vote, so please take the time to vote using the form in the link.

Please have a read, please vote for whoever you feel deserves your vote, and we thank you all for your continued support with us and our journey as we fight for . đź’™

Run Ray Run is the band and "Glued" is the new single.

They are a great band, top bunch of young fellas and have a unique sound that is really catchy and captivating. Please go and have a listen, maybe listen to all their songs on Spotify (they have 3) and drop them a like or a follow. Support the bands that support us.

Last night Sonia and myself went to see Old Mervs play a gig down at Burleigh, supported by Run Ray Run (who played at Concert For Cam 2026). The place was packed out, it was pretty hectic. We had a few highs and lows during the night, being that Old Mervs were one of Cameron's favourite bands, the ones he used to play for me in his work van.

Anyway, after the gig we bumped into the Run Ray Run boys and they took us back stage to meet Dave and Henry from Old Mervs. So we had a good chat and told them our/Cam's story. They were the nicest guys, listened and suggested they would like to try and help out at some stage. To be 100% honest, this is the missing piece from the Concert For Cam picture.

Old Mervs and The Terrys have always been the bands we feel Cam really loved the most. They have always been the bands we feel most talks to us about Cam and his mates. So meeting them, chatting with them and sharing our/Cam's story with them was pretty special. And we hope to maybe coax them into a "special guest" appearance at Concert For Cam one day.

So all up, it was a pretty special night and we are so glad we waited for an hour in the queue waiting to get in.

Thanks Run Ray Run for making it happen for us, looking forward to seeing you guys perform again, always enjoy your sets.

We had a visitor pop in today, to drop off a special gift. Thank you very much Mackenzie, it is very thoughtful, generous and kind, as well as very much appreciated. Some nice warm Cammy blankets just in time for winter. So soft and fleecy too! ♥️

Wednesday was a big day for us and it was a pivotal step in moving towards

While this is only the first battle, it is a battle we needed to win, and we will take it for what it represents. A win that gives us more hope. A win that lets us breathe. A win that we had to wait 18 months just to get to. So we will take it.

And we don't celebrate because we are happy. There are no real winners in all of this. We know this. It is sad for everyone involved. We didn't want this. We didn't create this. We wish none of us were in this position. But we are. And we are because of one person. One person's decision. One person's actions. And one person that led directly to this outcome. One person. And this could all be over if the person who did this stood up, owned up and took some responsibility. Like a man. Admitted his mistakes. Like a man. Accepted his punishment. Like a man.

So we are celebrating because we are relieved. We are celebrating because others, including the Magistrate, have seen that there is more to this than what the defence tried to put up in the committal hearing. We are celebrating because someone is being told they have to answer to these charges and they can't just hide behind silence and denial any longer.

We celebrate because we know that we are getting closer to the truth. And we know that in a trial the real truth will come out. And so does the defence. And so does the accused. And the truth doesn't frighten us. And this is why we are celebrating. We are celebrating because we are getting closer to the truth. And that is all we have ever wanted. đź’™
