Cameron Duce Forever 22

Cameron Duce Forever 22 Cameron was a fun loving young man with a big smile and an easy going nature. He was also cheeky, a joker and always fun to be around. Taken too soon. Forever 22.

He was always making other people happy with a smile, a joke or just some kinds words. He didn't take things too seriously and Cam (Ducey) just enjoyed spending time with his mates, going out, fishing or camping. A son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a great mate to many.

This morning, the 3rd September 2026, we went to the Brisbane Supreme Court for the first court mention, where the official indictment for the crime of Unlawful Striking Causing Death was presented to the defence.

Today was the first step towards in the Brisbane Supreme Court. While the process largely resets and starts again, it is now in the hands of the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and they will prosecute the indictment on ours and Cameron's behalf in the Brisbane Supreme Court,

We don't expect this to go to trial this year but we will continue to show up for Cam, and we ask that you continue to support us and help us achieve , by following this page and sharing any relevant news with others and asking them to follow this page for updates and information.

Thank you. ❤️

Hi, I know it's been a while since we have posted on here, so I just wanted to touch base and ask you to be patient with us and this page. We are in a bit of a "calm before the storm" right now, while the DPP (the Department of Public Prosecutions), the legal team that will be charging and prosecuting our case on our/Cam's behalf, issue the charge to the accused and his legal team for them to make a decision, and then we wait to find out how they wish to plead, guilty or not guilty.

Basically, if they plead "guilty", then it will go directly to sentencing and it spares us the emotional strain and toll of going to trial to see if they can try and get the accused off of the charge/charges, while if they plead "not guilty" it will go to trial and a court date will be set.

Just getting to the plea can take up to 6 months, and we are now about 2 months into that, so we would hope to hear something in the next few months. As soon as we hear something we will let you all know.

What we do know from the committal hearing is that the accused coward striker Austin Lewis Blaney Ballard and his legal team were prepared to try and push the possible blame onto a third party, so that tells us all something about the level that the alleged coward and his legal team are prepared to go to to try and avoid any accountability for any part of their role in the outcome. Fortunately the Magistrate could see through it and committed it to trial where we can only hope the truth comes out and justice is served. So now we wait for the next move from the accused and his legal team.

In the meantime, we have been doing our best with getting on with our lives, and moving forward while carrying Cam in our hearts and keeping his memory alive. We know that there are many of Cam/Ducey's family, friends and our supporters who also carry Cam in their thoughts and we really appreciate everyone who takes a moment at any time to think of and remember Cam.

As long as we continue to remember and think of Cam, he stays alive in our hearts and memories, so every now and then take a moment, a little reminder of those moments you shared with Cammy, the laughs, the good times, the memories you made with him, and remember his big smile, his cheeky grin, his laugh and how he made you laugh and feel better.

So, please be patient with us and this page, stay the course with us, don't think we have forgotten about you, our family, friends and supporters, it is just that for the next few months we might not have much to update you about. When we have any news or updates, we will share that with you all on here.

So please don't think or feel that we have forgotten about you, we are aware and thankful for your support, so know that we are also thinking of you just as we ask you to please think of Cam from time to time. 💙 www.cammyduce.com

Hi, please take a moment to read this to the end. It is important to us and we do appreciate your time 💙

As most of you will be aware, we are now part of Queensland Homicide Victims' Support Group (QHVSG), a support organisation for victims of homicide. Among many things they do to help, they have an awards night to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in the ways they have helped those who have suffered the loss of a loved one through homicide.

We have nominated two of the Detectives who are part of Cameron's case for their care and consideration for us beyond the outstanding work they do for the community in their day to day duties. I will add our recommendation in the comments below.

We would like to ask you to read our nomination for them in these awards, and to vote for them using the link provided, if you feel that what we have written about our experience with them holds true to your beliefs in what outstanding support really means. A "like" won't register a vote, so please take the time to vote using the form in the link.

Please have a read, please vote for whoever you feel deserves your vote, and we thank you all for your continued support with us and our journey as we fight for . 💙

We recognise and sincerely thank the families who sponsor these awards each year. The winners of these prestigious awards will be presented at the QHVSG Annual Night Of Recognition.
