Sewing with Purpose 🧵❤️

A big thank you to our wonderful members Maria, Mary, Margaret and Hilli, who spent time this week sewing bags for our next round of Just For You bags.

These bags will be filled with essential toiletries and everyday items that many of us take for granted, but that not everyone has access to. As homelessness is one of the core focus areas of Rotary Club of Broadwater North, this project is one that means a great deal to our members.

Every bag is made with care and will be distributed to people in our community who are doing it tough. It’s a simple gesture, but one we hope helps remind recipients that they are seen, valued and supported.

We are currently seeking donations of the following brand new items to help us fill the bags:

• Toothbrushes
• Toothpaste
• Roll-on deodorant
• Hair brushes or combs
• Hand towels
• Bath towels
• Face washers
• Body sponges
• Thongs

If you would like to donate any of these items, please contact our incoming Secretary, Lily Greenwood, at [email protected] to arrange collection or drop-off.

On Saturday our club spent the morning treating the beautiful residents at Ozcare Parkwood Gardens to a morning tea☕️🧁

We loved seeing their smiling faces, chatting with them & hearing all the stories they had to share.

Hopefully we will be back again🩷🩷🩷

Last night, we were privileged to hear from guest speaker Gareth Hunt from DonateLife.

Gareth shared the incredible impact organ and tissue donation has on individuals and families, with one donor able to save up to seven lives. It was a powerful reminder of how one selfless decision can create hope and healing for so many.

We also reflected on the extraordinary generosity of families who, in their most heartbreaking moments, choose to give others a second chance at life. Their courage and compassion leave a lasting legacy that truly cannot be measured.

We encourage our community to take a moment today—have the conversation with your loved ones and make your wishes known. Then take the next step and register as an organ and tissue donor. One simple decision could save lives.

A very special induction at last week’s meeting for our youngest member, Layken who is 2💙

Layken has been attending Rotary meetings since he was just 4 days old, and it’s been such a joy watching him grow up around Rotary. Now his baby sister, Lennon-Rae, is already following in his footsteps and attending meetings too.

We absolutely love having the babies and kids at our meetings and events. They bring so much happiness to the room and remind us that they are the future of Rotary and the future of our community.

The next generation of Rotarians starts early! 🌟

Craig Wallace attended the President-Elect Learning & Development Seminar over the weekend as he gets ready to step into his role.

We were also thrilled to see our very own Deb, our upcoming District Governor, shine as she presented at the seminar. An incredible effort and a proud moment for our club!
