✨ The wonder and resilience of guinea pigs never ceases to amaze us. ✨

When this tiny girl arrived in our care as a stray, she weighed just 0.480 kg and was discovered to be pregnant. Despite her small size and uncertain start, she was welcomed into a loving foster home where she could rest, recover, and prepare for motherhood.

Yesterday, she delivered three beautiful pups! 🐹💕 Together, her babies weigh 0.291 kg — that's an incredible 60.6% of her original body weight.

Just imagine carrying and safely delivering babies that, collectively, weigh more than half of your own body weight. These little animals are truly remarkable.

Stories like this are also a powerful reminder of why fostering saves lives. Without a foster home, this mum and her babies may not have had the safe, quiet environment they needed. Because someone opened their home and their heart, this little family now has the chance to thrive.

🐀💕 Three Tiny Troublemakers Seeking a Holiday Foster Home! 💕🐀

Meet our delightful trio of young female rats – three energetic, inquisitive, and wonderfully mischievous sisters who are looking for a loving foster home for a few weeks of rest and recovery while they complete their medication and recuperate from respiratory illness.

These girls are full of personality! They're curious about absolutely everything, always on the lookout for their next adventure, and guaranteed to keep you entertained with their playful antics. Whether they're investigating a new hammock, rearranging their cage décor, or demanding treats and attention, life is never dull with these three around.

We're looking for an experienced rat foster carer who can provide:

✨ A large, suitable enclosure of their own
✨ Plenty of enrichment, climbing opportunities, and cosy sleeping spots
✨ Daily interaction, handling, and social time
✨ Experience medicating rats, as they require medication twice daily
✨ A safe, loving environment where they can relax, recover, and be spoiled

These girls are currently receiving treatment through RI and need a temporary home where they can continue their recovery while enjoying all the comforts of a ratty holiday retreat.

If you have rat experience, a suitable setup ready to go, and room in your heart for three cheeky little patients, we'd love to hear from you. Their ideal foster home will see them not as "just temporary guests" but as treasured little companions deserving of lots of love, enrichment, and attention during their stay.

Just like her namesake dessert, Custard is soft, sweet, and best enjoyed with good company.

This lovely girl is searching for a calm female guinea pig friend to share her days with — someone to snuggle beside during afternoon naps, whisper guinea pig secrets to, and enjoy endless hay feasts together. 🥬💕

Custard hasn't always had the easiest start. Having previously lived as a "free-range piggy," the big world can still feel a little overwhelming at times. She's a gentle soul who can be a tad nervous when faced with new situations, but with patience, kindness, and daily calm handling, she's learning that people can be pretty wonderful.

Sometimes ❤️ is instant; pretty lady Lolly was paired with one of our desexed males last week and whilst she tolerated him, it was not a match made in heaven. Today she was adopted and within 30min, she and her new Beau were snuggled together. A perfect pairing. 🥰🥰

Meet Keke & Biggie - a closely bonded pair of young male rats searching for a loving forever home together. These boys are exceptionally social, affectionate, and wonderfully hand-tame, with Keke especially eager to be part of everything you're doing. He's always the first at the cage entrance, ready to say hello, climb into your hands, and head out for free-range adventures.

Both boys thrive on interaction and absolutely love spending time with their people. They're curious, intelligent, and full of personality, making them a joy to watch and bond with. Because they are such active and social rats, they'll need a large enclosure packed with plenty of enrichment, climbing opportunities, hammocks, toys, and regular out-of-cage time to explore and interact.

Keke & Biggie share a very close bond and must be adopted together into a home that understands the needs of intelligent, social small animals and can give them the attention, stimulation, and love they deserve.

While Andrew is a gentle little fellow, he can be a bit hand-shy and skittish at first. Daily gentle handling is essential to help him learn that people are kind and trustworthy. With patience, consistency, and plenty of positive interactions, we're sure he'll continue to blossom.

Andrew would thrive in a calm environment where he can take things at his own pace while enjoying all the comforts of indoor guinea pig life. During his recovery period, he'll need a foster carer who can provide attentive care, fresh food, a clean habitat, and lots of reassurance.
