Where do you volunteer? Princess for a Day

How long have you been volunteering? 7 years

What’s the most rewarding part of our ministry and serving?
Serving at Princess for a Day is one of the most meaningful things I get to do. Many of the women who come through the doors are going through incredibly hard seasons—whether it’s financial hardship, domestic violence, homelessness, or just the everyday weight of life.

When I offer a massage, it’s not just about relaxing tired muscles—it’s about creating a sacred moment where these women feel seen, valued, and loved. For many of them, it may be the first time in a long while that someone has cared for them with no strings attached. I get to speak kindness without words, to simply serve them with gentleness and dignity.

It’s an honour to be part of something that reminds these women that they are not forgotten, that they are beautiful, and that they are deeply loved—by God and by us.

Where do you volunteer? City Meals and Street Team

How long have you been volunteering? 2.5 years

What’s the most rewarding part of our ministry and serving?
At City Meals I love the diverse community. While it gives me an opportunity to serve I also love spending time talking to people from diverse backgrounds and age groups while cooking. It's a great atmosphere and I look forward to catching up with people while I cook.

At Street Teams, I love hearing people's stories. Stopping to hand out meals I love talking to people on the streets about their values, beliefs and just life. I love being a friend to people.

Each month, Newlife Care Brisbane prepares 200+ meals for the homeless, partnering with Fishers of Men, going on mission to those who are doing it tough in our city. 📣 Exciting Updates from the Op Shop! 📣

We’re thrilled to celebrate the completion of our Op Shop extension! This much-needed, air-conditioned sorting and storage space is helping us better manage the ever-increasing flow of donations, enabling us to continue funding the vital work of Newlife Care.

As we step into 2025, we want to share an important update—our permanent donation drop-off times are now 8:00 am – 12:00pm, Monday - Saturday. This change helps our dedicated volunteers keep up with sorting and processing donations efficiently.
On particularly busy days, we may need to close drop-offs before midday if we reach capacity.

To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend calling us first at 0437 878 321 to check if we’re still accepting donations that day. We truly appreciate your understanding and generosity!

We also need more volunteers to help us keep up with demand. Whether you can spare half a day, a full day, or more each week, your time will make a real difference.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to connect with others, find meaningful work, and support our community. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to welcome you to the team—come and join us!
