A couple of weeks ago, we had the privilege of travelling to Toowoomba to deliver "One Moment" presentation at Wilsonton State High School, Toowoomba State High School and Highfields State secondary College.

Speaking to nearly 1000 Students was an incredible experience, and we were so impressed by their engagement, respect, and enthusiasm. Thank you to all three schools welcoming us and supporting these important conversations.

A huge thanks to Mayor Geoff McDonald for joining us, taking an interest in our work, and providing us a memorable tour of the Toowoomba City Hall. Also a special thanks to Snr Sgt Mick Chalmers for joining us once again to explain the Law side of Jacks Law.

We look forward to returning to this wonderful community in the future.

The Rotary Club of Capricorn Coast was proud to donate $500 to the Jack Beasley Foundation, presented by Club President Christine and President Elect Harry to District Governor Deb Frugtniet.

The Jack Beasley Foundation was established by Brett and Belinda Beasley after their 17 year old son Jack was fatally stabbed at Surfers Paradise in December 2019. Since then, the Foundation has become a leading voice in the fight against youth knife crime in Australia, running the "One Moment" education program in schools and sporting clubs, advocating for stronger knife detection laws and weapon retail regulations, and working to keep young people safe from the kind of violence that took Jack's life.

Our club is proud to support an organisation doing such vital work to protect young people in our communities.

Other states like Queensland and New South Wales take knives off the streets with Jack’s Law. Why don’t we?
$13 million for machete bins or $300 for a metal-detecting wand. I know what I’d prefer.

UPDATE: In just one year, Jack’s Law has removed over 1,300 dangerous weapons from our streets.
