On Thursday 12th March seven members of Surfers Paradise VIEW Club attended an International Women’s Day event hosted by Nerang VIEW Club. The members of Nerang VIEW organised a special celebration for Lorraine Thomson, National President of VIEW (2026/27). Attending VIEW members were given the opportunity to pass the microphone for their personal anecdotes. There were many interesting and funny stories told about Lorraine, who has given many years of service to VIEW.
Before the mic was passed around we were treated to a talk by Robina VIEW member Dr Michele Matthews, who gave us a wonderful insight into her life as an historian and particularly her study of Sir John Quick, and the “people’s convention” plan at the Corowa Conference.
SPVC member Fran gave a vote of thanks to President Marie and the Nerang VIEW members, for organising an enjoyable day with interesting conversations, a delicious lunch and a chance to catch up with VIEW friends.
