Our October lunch at the Southport Golf Club was well attended with the ladies enjoying our guest speaker That Pilot Guy - Cran Middleton. Cran has had a pilot license since he was 16. His journey has taken him from outback Australia to the busy corridors of international airports but this all changed the day he woke up in ICU. Cran’s inspirational story saw him meet his challenges to take a different course in life.
Our Sunshine Lady, Yvonne handed birthday cards to Wendy and Nancy who celebrate October birthdays.

September saw members, partners and friends enjoy a bus trip to the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. Coffee was enjoyed in the café overlooking the Tweed River and views of the surrounding valley below. After visiting the current exhibitions on display and a re-creation of artist Margaret Olley’s home studio, we boarded the bus for the short trip to Tyalgum to enjoy lunch at Flutterbies Cottage Cafe.

An enjoyable September lunch meeting featuring guest speaker Peta Burton, giving her amazing presentation - 1000kms in 30 days, her trek to Cape York. In Peta’s own words - it was her enemy, her comrade, and her teacher.

On Monday four members from our VIEW club joined other Gold Coast VIEW Club members for a Walk with VIEW - Women walk for anti-poverty. Walking through the Gold Coast Botanical Gardens and afterwards morning tea hosted by Burleigh/Palm Beach VIEW Club. A fun day with lots of chatter during the walk and afterwards.
Tuesday was a social function with forty ladies attending morning tea and a fashion parade by Portofino Fashions. The models on the day enjoyed modelling several outfits from day, to casual to evening wear. The theme for the day was there is always room for one more garment in a wardrobe.

Our August lunch meeting didn’t disappoint with guest speaker Rod taking us on a journey with postal services through the years of Hollywood. An entertaining and informative presentation of “it started with a kiss”. Priscilla thanked Rod who has several more stories to share with us in the future. Our August birthday ladies Betty, Yvonne and Pamela received their birthday card from Fran.

Our June guest speaker, Megan Norris kept our VIEW Club ladies engaged with stories of her life as a UK trained journalist and award-winning author, covering the survivors of some of Australia’s most horrific crimes.

The ladies attending our May social outing enjoyed a delicious High Tea in Preece House, a 1948 timber built Queenslander situated in Nerang. Lynn and her wonderful volunteers (Gayle, Jenny & Tina) served a lovely selection of home made sandwiches and scones.

Despite the gloomy weather outside, our May lunch meeting was anything but, with our guest speaker Angelina from Wendy Wu Tours taking us on a whirlwind trip with a wonderful presentation of holiday destinations.
Four new members Wendy, Nancy, Kathy and Janet received their VIEW pack and were welcomed into the club.
Our May birthday girls Trish and Roslyn received their birthday cards from Sunshine Lady Yvonne.
Carol thanked our guest speaker Angelina for her interesting and helpful information on overseas tour packages.
Lucky winner Jan receiving her raffle prize, a gift voucher donated by Wendy Wu Tours.
