Of course, every good walk deserves a reward… so we finished up at Roast & Brew Cafe for waffles! 🧇☕️

We’re not sure the waffles cancelled out the walking, but they were definitely worth it! 😂

Our Oceans to Outback challenge is officially underway!

Throughout October, our Gnowangerup St John WA volunteers are challenging themselves to walk 87km to raise much-needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). 🚑✈️

We’ve already started clocking up the kilometres, and here’s a little look at some of our volunteers getting those steps in! 👟💪

There’s still plenty of walking ahead of us, and we’d love your support along the way. Every donation, big or small, helps the RFDS continue providing vital and life-saving care to people living in rural and remote Australia. ❤️

✈️ 🚑 ITS OCTOBER! THAT MEANS OUR FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE HAS STARTED🚑 ✈️

This October, our Gnowangerup St John WA volunteers are taking part in Oceans to Outback — a month-long fitness challenge raising vital funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

💪 Our amazing volunteers are challenging themselves to walk 87km, while raising as much money as possible for this incredible service.

Living in a rural community, we know just how important access to emergency and essential healthcare is. Every dollar raised helps the RFDS travel further, respond when needed and continue delivering life-saving care to Australians, no matter where they live. ❤️

🐍 SNAKE AWARENESS TRAINING 🚑

Our volunteers recently had the opportunity to take part in a Snake Awareness Training Session — and there were definitely a few brave volunteers in the room! 😅🐍

The session gave our team the chance to learn more about the different snake species we may encounter in our region, including how to identify them, differences in their behaviour and attacks, and how their venom can affect the body.

Most importantly, we refreshed our knowledge on snake bite first aid and treatment, helping ensure our volunteers are prepared to respond confidently when it matters most.

Training like this is a valuable part of volunteering with St John — keeping our skills current while learning more about the situations we may encounter in our community.

And yes… those are real snakes! 🐍😳

A huge thank you to St John WA - Jerramungup and St John WA - Tambellup for hosting us, Matt (paramedic) for running the sessions, and to our volunteers for getting hands-on — some more willingly than others! 😂
