Westpac Rescue Helicopter- Gloucester Support Group

Last night, over 100 people gathered at the Gloucester Bowling Club for a night of fun and laughter at the annual Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service – Gloucester Support Group St Patrick’s Day Trivia.

With rounds featuring words that were hard to pronounce and questions repeated across different topics, the night certainly kept everyone on their toes! With prize money on the line, the atmosphere was full of fun, laughter and great friendship.

At the end of the night, the winning team took the title by just 5 points. Showing true community spirit, they generously donated their prize money back to the group.

Our mystery item was also auctioned during the evening, with the winning bid reaching an incredible $300.00.

With the auction, fines, buy a hint, raffle and a donation from the Gloucester Community Op Shop, the night raised $6701.50…….this far exceeds our expectations.

A fantastic night supporting a wonderful service and bringing the community together.

Tonight (18/12/2025), at our Christmas Party, we were able to present to 2 amazing ladies, their 5 and 10 year service badges. Marie Germon received her 5 year badge and Jenny Herd, received her 10 year badge.

These ladies, like the rest of the Gloucester Volunteer Support Group, give up their time throughout the year, to raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and tonight, the group was able to present a cheque for $50,000.00 to Annette Watson (WRHS Volunteer Coordinator - Broadmeadow) on behalf of not only the group but also the community of Gloucester. Without the continued support from the community, we would not be able to maintain a free service for many who need it.

So on behalf of not only the support group but also WRHS head office, we would like to say thank you. Thank you for your generous donations throughout the year, your participation in not only, our many raffles that we do but our Golf Day, Dinner Auction and Toy Raffle.

Our first fundraiser fo 2026 is our St Patrick’s Day Trivia Night - Saturday 14th March at Gloucester Bowling Club.

Finally, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.

What a great turnout for our Westpac Rescue Helicopter annual toy raffle. With nearly 90 prizes up for grabs, the children were making sure that mum and dad knew why they wanted.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day. A special thank you to the Gloucester Bowling Club and their staff as well as Jack Collins, Graham Turnbull and Wayne Groves for your continued support.

Finally, a massive thank you to th Gloucester Volunteer Support Group members who come and helped on the day - you are all truly and you all looked awesom in the 50th Anniversary Shirts.

We raised over $3000.00 fo the Service - a fantastic effort. So once again, thank you for your continued support.

Who has started their Christmas shopping…..well never fear - Gloucester Volunteer Support Group is holding their annual toy raffle on the16 November at Gloucester Bowling Club with all proceeds going to keep this amazing service operating…..

A huge thank you everyone who donates to the Regional Australia Banks “Community Partnership Program”……we are the recipient of over $15,000.00. This money will go to making sure that this service continues to operate over NSW.

Who would have guessed that just over 10 years ago, this amazing lady joined the local WRHS support group. Last night at our meeting, we were finally able to present Wendy with her 10 year badge.
