CWA Gloucester Evening Branch

The Gloucester Evening Branch of the Country Women's Association of NSW is part of the Mid North Coast region that extends from Bulahdelah to Nambucca.

We meet every 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm at the CWA rooms, Church Street, Gloucester NSW. New members are always welcome.

💙💛We had a very busy meeting last night which was very well attended despite the rainy weather!
Seems that July is going to be a big month for us with catering and a Christmas in July community stall to boost our fundraising.
We also have some Group functions and a social Branch outing coming up.

Our Branch Agriculture and
Environment Officer, Deb, gave us a talk about weeds and then we had a lively identification session on all the weeds we brought along from our gardens for discussion.
Seems they will keep growing and we will keep trying to pull them out and kill them. 🤣🤣🤣

Our bakers have been very busy and we had a good amount of entries in the items our Cookery Officer Trish chose for this month from the State Competition Schedule.

3/ Marble Cake
We had an in-house judging by some of our members which always helps new bakers to learn the tips and a delighted Cheryl with a first time entry placed 2nd in the Chocolate Cake 🤗. 💙💛

💙💛 Lovely Morning Tea 95th Birthday celebrations this morning for Bulahdelah CWA Branch at the Bulahdelah Golf Club.

Thanks Belinda and your girls for a delightful outing.
The entertainment from all of the young school pupils was wonderful and we enjoyed the sing along as well as your delicious morning tea.

Mid North Coast Group of CWA are hosting the CWA State Conference in Forster at Club Forster this week and some of our Branch members are involved in the organisation of the event.

Since Friday the Conference organising Committee, Chaired by our Member Rhonda Merchant, has been preparing to welcome Delegates from around the State.

State Office Volunteers Barbara Reichert and Colleen Yates
are assisting our State Office Staff with the preparations, Registration of the Delegates and throughout the Conference and Branch Member Jill Carson has done the beautiful floral arrangements for the stage.

Some of our other members will be attending as Delegates and Observers following the Official Opening on Monday morning.

Conference commenced Sunday evening with a Church Service in the Auditorium and will continue until Thursday.

5 members travelled to Bulahdelah today for the Mid North Coast Group March Council Meeting hosted by the Bulahdelah Branch ladies, at the Golf Club, assisted by some of their Junior members.
These girls, through their schools’ sanctioned participation, were able to experience a CWA Group meeting and interact with our Group ladies.

Combined with our meeting was the display of the Groups Handicraft Competition articles which were judged the day before.

Our Branch was delighted to discover that we had the highest Pointscore for the Best Branch 8 Articles and we have regained the Rose Bowl Trophy.

Congratulations to Barbara Reichert who has 2 beautiful articles which will be continuing on to judging at the NSW CWA State Conference to be hosted by our Group in May at Club Forster.

Mark your diaries for a wonderful Spring event.
The CWA Hall Committee are hosting a Spring Garden Fair & Showing on September 5th, 2026.
More details to come later in the year 🌸🌻🌷🪻

At the recent Evening Branch February meeting we made plans for a busy month ahead.
Members have 2 catering events coming up which will boost our fundraising.

Also on our calendar are the Mid North Coast Group Friendship and Cookery Judging day to be held in Wauchope this week and the MNC Group Council meeting to be held in Bulahdelah at the beginning of March where, along with the Group business meeting, the Group Handicraft entries will be on display following the earlier judging.
Successful competitors from these 2 judging days will progress to competing at the CWA of NSW State Conference in May which will be hosted by our MNC Group in Forster.

Branch members continue to enjoy our weekly coffee catchups Friday mornings at 10am.
We try to move around all of our local cafes for these outings, often this is dependent on the weather 🤣

Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday 12th March at 7 pm in our Church St Rooms.
President Donna and members welcome all ladies who are interested to discover what CWA is all about to join us. 💙💛
