Interesting Group Agriculture and Environment Day morning presentation today by Group A&E Officer Donna Kemp, assisted by her Guest Speaker Deb Robinson, a member from our Branch who works locally as a Horticulturist.

The topics today were ….
Flora - SheOaks and Wattleseed
Fauna- the Glossy Black Cockatoo
Foe- Weeds
these were chosen by our State Ag&Env Committee to be studied this year.

Donna and Deb gave a very informative talk about all subjects and Donna tested our knowledge with a Quiz.

The afternoon session was run by our Group Handicraft Officer Mary Mcanally.
We had demonstrations of
Brazilian Embroidery, Rug or Wall Hanging using a latch hook, Felted Soaps and Making Flowers with Buttons.
Members were able to watch or try out the various techniques.

Many thanks to the Forster Branch for hosting us at Club Forster with a lovely lunch and a happy day.

πŸ’™πŸ’›We had a very busy meeting last night which was very well attended despite the rainy weather!
Seems that July is going to be a big month for us with catering and a Christmas in July community stall to boost our fundraising.
We also have some Group functions and a social Branch outing coming up.

Our Branch Agriculture and
Environment Officer, Deb, gave us a talk about weeds and then we had a lively identification session on all the weeds we brought along from our gardens for discussion.
Seems they will keep growing and we will keep trying to pull them out and kill them. 🀣🀣🀣

Our bakers have been very busy and we had a good amount of entries in the items our Cookery Officer Trish chose for this month from the State Competition Schedule.
1/ Plain Butter Cake
2/ Chocolate Cake
3/ Marble Cake
We had an in-house judging by some of our members which always helps new bakers to learn the tips and a delighted Cheryl with a first time entry placed 2nd in the Chocolate Cake πŸ€—. πŸ’™πŸ’›
