Congratulations to our 2 Blacktown Little Athletics Centre athletes Ava & Arjun who have been selected as part of the NSW Athletics LEAP Squad.

This is the first step onto Performance Pathways and the LEAP Program aims to identify emerging Little athletes and provide unique opportunities to assist in their athletic development. Across this they will get to attend 2 camps where they will be coached by experience coaches and be provided workshops to help with their development

This week was National Volunteer Week! A time to celebrate our volunteers and get involved in volunteering.

Sport in Australia is heavily run on volunteers including our Club. Everything doesn’t magically happen at BLAC, it’s:

💚 work put in behind the scenes by our volunteer committee to make sure each athlete is registered, the line are marked and everything is running to plan
🖤 our amazing group of age managers and parent helpers who encourage and support our athletes each Friday Night
💚 our officials who help run our Gala Days and Competitions helping our athletes understand the rules
🖤 our starters & timekeepers ensuring races are run and timed
💚 canteen and bbq helpers making sure our athletes are hydrated and fueled

And many more who make our dedicated club run…

Thank you to our amazing volunteers who keep our club running 💚🖤

Congratulations to former BLAC Athlete Luke Vrataric for being selected to represent Australia at the World U20 Championships 💚💛

Luke will be competing in Long Jump in Eugene, Oregon, USA 🇺🇸 against the best U20 athletes in the World 🌏 in August.

Good Luck to Luke, we are excited to watch you on the World Stage 💛💚

Congratulations to former BLAC athlete Jake Hayter on being selected into the Australian Athletics U23 Tour for the 200m to compete in New Taipei City.

This tour is an important development pathway for athletes to the World Stage and is a massive achievement to be selected by Australian Athletics to represent them on this tour!
