Our membership consists of most of the known 4WD Clubs in Tasmania. 4WD Tasmania is an organisation representing 4WD recreational vehicle clubs and their members. Our membership consists of most of the the known 4WD Clubs in Tasmania.

4WD Tasmania formed in 1985, was previously known as Tasmanian Recreational Vehicles Association. It is a non-profit organisation to meet the perceived need for a u

nified voice for recreational vehicle users, and is used to lobby Government Departments on track issues regarding access and maintenance. A similar State body exists in other Australian States and in the Northern Territory, and these State bodies form the basis of the Australian National Four Wheel Drive Council (ANFWDC), which again provides a unified voice, in addition to an information exchange centre. 4WD Tasmania is involved with the ANFWDC and has an elected delegate on the committee.

4WD Tasmania promotes the responsible use of public and private lands by educational programs and has issued several brochures directed at protecting the areas and tracks used by recreational vehicle owners. Efforts are also directed at encouraging the individual user to join an affiliated club.

Great example of how a sand flag can make it safer for everyone.

We don't see many sand flags used in Tasmania currently but those who often visit Bridport, St Helens, Henty Dunes or Pieman Heads have probably all had close calls from other vehicles, bikes and side by sides.

Last day of the utterly insane 2026 AGFEST, record crowds went wild with fantastic volunteers showing off their awesome 4wd skills and George the monkey was having a field day, not just driving his jeep but also bumming a ride in the Subaru brumby ute after a chilly morning. Three days of non-stop action and huge thanks to all the volunteers from Land Rover Owner's Club Tasmania (LROCT), NO LIMITS 4WD CLUB, Braddon 4wd Club, Trekka 4WD Club, Devonport 4WD Club, Northern Explorers 4wd club & Independent 4x4 club who made it all happen. Can't wait to see you all again next year!
