We seem to have had an enjoyable and entertaining meeting last night, according to the feedback from those present. A bit of ritual revisited, compared and critiqued, and discussion of how recent some wording is versus the history. A bit of education, and discussion, about a mechanical device and familial connections in lodge. Finished off with an excerpt from overseas ritual of a 1st degree long closing, compliments of a copy of "Taylors" from UK. The "after party" was catered by Bro Hodgie Roberts with pizza followed by a selection of sweets. Thank you. And yet again, we have had so much enjoyment we forgot to take any photos to post.

Coming up fast, this Thursday, 8th October, 2nd Thursday of the month, regular 7:30 meeting, in the 1st degree. Long Closing to finish, after a reprise of Reasons for Preparation in Tas ritual, interspersed with a UK version.. Always educational and entertaining to see what others do. Plus a small excerpt , more an expansion on the Lewis (which gets a mention in next month's 1st Tracing Board,) - for our new initiate and the other family links of fathers and sons in Tas Union Lodge. (Check out the Honor Board in the foyer. Looking forward to seeing you there.

During the toasts at our September Festive Board, visiting W Bro Kerry LeBoutillier of Tynwald Lodge 262QC (father of new Bro Jay) conveyed greetings from his WM, W Bro Catchpole, to our WM and brethren. Kerry was presented with a pennant of greetings from Tas Union, pictured, to display in his Lodge. Similarly, Bro Anderson from Brazil, conveyed greetings from his Lodge and WM, and received reciprocal greetings to take home, and was also presented with a pennant.

Successful initiation for Bro Jay Le Boutillier at our last meeting. A number of visitors came along, the work was done reasonably well, big shout out to Geoff Magaling with his first run as Junior Deacon and Ben Shelverton on the Tools. Next 2 meetings, 8 October and 12 November will be 1st degree ritual. October will be a live comparison of the Reasons in Tas versus UK versions, a short lecture on the Lewis as a tool and its other masonic meaning PLUS something novel, - the "Long Closing" , November will be W Bro Plunkett's delivery of the 1st Tracing Board, with all extensions, with a visit from a UK WM.

This month, our 2nd Thursday of the month meeting (10th September) is a live Initiation ceremony for Mr Jay Le Boutellier. His father, a PM, is travelling from Qld to partake in the ceremony. Normal tyling time of 7:30, but, as usual , our pre- meeting casual coffee and chat will be on from (probably) 6:50/7:00 ish. Catered supper following the ceremony. For those involved, and anyone interested in helping, rehearsal is Monday 7th September, 7pm at the lodge rooms, 3 Peltro St, Glenorchy

2nd Thursday of the month, 13 August, coming up fast. Work for the meeting is an interactive presentation led by W Bro Frank Trappes entitled "If it moves, salute it" . Should be entertaining. Opening in all 3 degrees, long closing for 3rd. Plus introduction of joining member(s)?. Kick off 7:30. Coffee, biscuit and chat beforehand from around 7, catered supper afterwards, 8:45 or 9:00 ish. Tyler's Toast and closing before 10:30. September is a live initiation.

A very pleasant evening last night where WBro Denis Lang was returned to the chair of King Solomon for his second year. The ceremony was conducted by the grand lodge team with the Installing officer RW Bro David Macrow Past Deputy Grand Master at the helm and Grand Lodge Officers. A lovely meal was had (chicken and vegetables) with light refreshments and a desert.

A few special moments coming up over the next few meetings, July 9th - open in 3 degrees with a charge in each, plus something extra in the 3rd closing, Aug 13 will be joining members and a simulated 1st, Sept 10 is an initiation, with possible visit and participation from a Queensland lodge member.

Monday 22 June. Just days away now. Installation 2026. Installing Master RW Bro David Macrow. Tyling 6:30, visitors in by 6:45, Grand Lodge 6:50ish Festive Board 9pm (ish), Catered roast plus dessert. Some nice wines as accompaniment. Coffee, biscuits and chat from 6pm. All at Peltro St Masonic Centre
