GULLG hosted our 4th annual planting event as part of National Tree Day on Sunday, 27th July. We are proud to participate in this event and this year we used the occasion to contribute to the Glenlyon Recreation Reserve.

GULLG worked with the Glenlyon and District Pony Club to identify suitable locations within the reserve to enable the next generation of local native plants amongst the ageing trees in the central part of the reserve.

This work aims to ensure that this area of the reserve has healthy
trees for years to come. Despite the cold and amp weather, over 20 volunteers planted 45 trees, shrubs and grasses as well as maintaining the plantings from the past several years to ensure these plants continue to thrive.

GULLG would like to acknowledge the support of:
- Grant funding for seedlings from The Seedling Bank
- Wombat Native Plants plants for supplying the seedlings
- All the volunteers who braved the wet whether to participated on the day
