Australian Pony Stud Book Society Inc - Federal Council The APSB was established in 1931, it is the oldest stud book society for ponies in Australia, recording the pedigrees of ten pure pony breeds.

The APSB was founded in 1931 and was the first society for the registration of ponies established in Australia. Today, there are ten pure bred pony breeds plus four pony registers under the APSB umbrella. No other society can offer so many different pony breeds under the one registration. Please visit our we

It is with great sadness that we report the passing Peter O'Regan of Nagero pony stud in NSW. Peter was a well respected member of the NSW APSB Branch Committee for many years and represented that state on Federal Council on many occasions. Peter judged at Royals and Stud Pony Shows in all states and was well known for his knowledge and the integrity shown in his appointments. Nagero stud successfully bred and exhibited Australian, Shetland and Welsh ponies in led and harness and exhibited at major events. Our condolences to his soul mate Carol. His sense of humour will be remembered - 'Peter Perfect' was his signature response when he answered the phone. He will be sadly missed by his legion of friends.

Attention APSB Australian Pony Owners & Breeders.

Many of you will have read the statement posted on the Australian Pony Promotions Group QLD by Mr. Greg Keyes regarding the calling of a meeting to discuss proposals relating to the Australian Pony.

Federal Council would like to make it clear that this proposed meeting is in no way sanctioned or requested by Federal Council and stress to members that they are under no obligation to participate or comment should they not wish to.

The same proposals that are included on the agenda for this proposed meeting were tabled at the May Federal Council meeting by several members in QLD including Mr. Keyes and after lengthy discussion were unanimously rejected.

Should members wish to discuss any aspect of these proposals, please don’t hesitate to contact your State Branch Delegates.

It is with sincere sadness we acknowledge the passing of the Federal Patron of the APSB in Mrs. Lesley Barrett -Lennard. A dedicated member, committee member and former Federal Delegate for her home state of WA for many decades. Lesley had the respect of all who knew her, not only was she the Federal Patron of the Society since 2003, she was also Patron of her WA Branch. She bred many beautiful Australian and Welsh ponies under prefix of Drumclyer and her ponies competed with great success at the top level of competition. Her interests extended to Pony Club and her local Beverley Pony Club was her pride and joy. A lady with great knowledge in all aspects of the APSB and one who was also willing to provide advice to younger and newer members of our Society. A lady with a great sense of humor, she will be remembered by those who served with her on State and Federal committees as a very fair person, but also one who stood no nonsense - the Rules were the Rules. Our Condolences are extended to her family - farewell Lesley, you have left some wonderful memories.
