As June 30 approaches, your tax-deductible donation can help more students discover what’s possible when someone believes in them.

“If I had to capture the biggest way Skyline shaped me, across every part of my journey, personally, academically, and professionally, it would come down to one word: belief.”

When Asad arrived in Australia from Afghanistan, he struggled to see himself as someone who could achieve great things.

Then Skyline saw something in him that he couldn’t yet see in himself.

“They believed in me. They saw potential before I even saw it in myself. They took a chance not just to support me financially or academically, but to say, ‘We think you can lead. We think you can make a difference’”

Today, Asad is studying at Monash University and pursuing a path in politics and leadership.

“That kind of belief changes a person. It gives you the courage to aim higher, to push through doubt, to lead not because you have to, but because someone once believed that you could”

“I would say academically I was given the tools and resources in order to succeed, particularly in my tertiary years. If I didn’t have the assistance I did in Years 11 and 12, I can imagine I would’ve struggled more in my tertiary years.”

Today, Melissa is a primary school teacher at Brandon Park Primary School, holds a Master of Educational Leadership and Management, and has progressed into leadership roles as a Year Level Coordinator.

“Skyline changed the trajectory of my life because I knew there were different pathways available. I learned about opportunities and application pathways that I otherwise wouldn’t have known existed.”

A decade later, Melissa continues to credit Skyline for the confidence, support and opportunities that helped shape her journey.

“Becoming a Year Level Coordinator probably wouldn’t have happened as quickly without Skyline. It gave me confidence in myself and my ability to take on new opportunities.”

This EOFY, your donation can help more students access the support, guidance and opportunities that change lives long after graduation.

Because every student deserves the chance to discover what’s possible.

✨ More students. More opportunities. More futures changed. ✨

This year, Skyline welcomed our biggest cohort ever, with 100 new Year 11 students joining the program and our total cohort growing to 180 students across Victoria.

We’re incredibly grateful to ERDI Foundation for helping make this growth possible.

Their support funded five of these additional student places, giving more young people access to the academic, wellbeing and career support that sits at the heart of the Skyline experience.

Every new place represents a student with potential, ambition and dreams for the future.

Thank you, ERDI Foundation, for helping us open more doors. ❤️🤍⭐️

“University really seemed like a distant dream.”

At our 20 Year Anniversary event, current Skyline student James shared how Skyline helped turn a dream into a pathway.

James comes from a regional town of around 200 people.

“I’ve always aspired to study medicine, but before the Skyline scholarship that goal lacked any sort of direction or clarity.”

“The pathway for me really seemed unclear.”

Through Skyline, James gained access to university residentials, workshops, UCAT preparation, and opportunities to experience university life firsthand.

“What I thought that I needed the most was to be part of a community of like-minded students.”

“Being able to stay overnight at different university colleges with the Skyline cohort has been a really great opportunity.”

Most importantly, Skyline helped him see that his ambitions were achievable.

“The support Skyline’s given me has really given my ambitious goals direction.”

“I’d be much more pessimistic about my outlook on life without Skyline”

At our 20 Year Anniversary event, Skyline alumnus Ken reflected on how Skyline helped transform uncertainty into confidence and direction.

As Dux of his school, Ken was committed to his studies and worked hard to achieve his goals. But like many students, he was still figuring out what came next.

“I was so hyper-focused on studying and getting a high ATAR that I neglected my future. I would have this looming fear in the back of my mind that after all this studying, what would I do?”

Through Skyline, Ken gained access to mentors, career guidance, and opportunities that helped him explore pathways beyond the classroom.

“I found a clearer path to my future. I felt more confident in my future and what I was going to do afterwards”

A defining moment came through healthcare work experience at ForHealth medical clinics, facilitated through Skyline partnerships. Shadowing doctors, nurses, urgent care workers and other healthcare professionals gave Ken valuable insight into a field he had always been passionate about.

“I’ve always had this burning passion to work in healthcare. It made my passion burn even more.

Today, Ken is studying a Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging (Honours) at Monash University, turning that passion into a career.

Just as importantly, Skyline surrounded him with a community that helped shape his outlook on life.

“Being in Skyline, you’re surrounded by people who are extremely motivated. People who are optimistic… people who just want to succeed and be happy. It made me optimistic myself”

For 20 years, Skyline has connected students with opportunities, mentors, and experiences that help them see what’s possible and build the confidence to pursue it.
And with your support, we can continue creating that impact for the next generation.

We’re proud to partner with the Institute for Enquiring Minds and grateful for their ongoing support of Skyline students!

Through their Mathematics Methods tutoring program, the Institute for Enquiring Minds provides Skyline students with access to high-quality academic support at no cost, helping them strengthen their mathematical skills, build confidence, and pursue ambitious future pathways.

The impact is reflected in students’ own words:

💬 “The main reason Methods has improved is because I’ve had time to work on skills I either missed or never properly learnt, helping fill gaps I didn’t even realise I had. This is helping me work towards my future goal of becoming an engineer and build the maths skills I need to get there.”

💬 “I feel more comfortable tackling both ambiguous problems and problems that are out of the ordinary and require me to think. I’ve started attempting the challenge work provided by my school and feel more confident when learning and completing new work.”

These reflections demonstrate the power of targeted support, not only in developing academic capability, but also in helping young people build confidence in themselves and their capacity while broadening access to opportunities through high-quality academic tutoring.

Thank you to the Institute for Enquiring Minds for investing in Skyline students and helping ensure that potential is never limited by access to opportunity.

“Skyline changed my life trajectory” ❤️🤍⭐️

At our recent 20 Year Anniversary event, Keely shared a reflection that captured just how life-changing belief and opportunity can be.

“I thought there was absolutely no way I would qualify for something like the Hansen Little scholarship, but Skyline believed in me when I didn’t myself”

Guided by Skyline to apply, Keely went on to become one of just 25 students nationally to receive the highly prestigious Hansen Scholarship, providing over $100,000 in support, accommodation, academic programs, and access to new opportunities.

Before Skyline, Keely felt unsure about her future and struggled to imagine herself pursuing STEM.

“I was often told that STEM was something I shouldn’t pursue as a girl. Skyline was able to turn pursuing STEM from something that felt completely unrealistic into something that’s real and achievable”

Through mentoring, masterclasses, and being surrounded by other young women with similar interests, Skyline helped shift what felt possible.
“I was able to meet many other girls who are also interested in STEM and that certainly helped me to feel less lonely”

Keely also reflected on the importance of feeling genuinely supported and cared for.

“It wasn’t just the academic supports… it was having people who would genuinely check in on me”

“Skyline felt like a second family”

Now studying Computer Science as a Hansen Scholar, Keely reflected on how much has changed, not just academically, but personally too.

“Skyline was able to instil in me the confidence to step outside of my shell more”

Her story is a reminder that sometimes one opportunity, one mentor, or one person believing in you can completely change the direction of your life.

Access to real-world industry experience can be life-changing for young people, helping them build confidence, expand their aspirations, and better understand the pathways available to them. ❤️🤍⭐️

That’s why our partnership with ForHealth Medical Centres is so meaningful.

Through these placements, Skyline students gain firsthand insight into healthcare careers, patient care, teamwork, and the professionalism required in clinical practice. Most importantly, they begin to see that a future in healthcare is genuinely within reach.

“The experience helped me understand what working in healthcare is really like and made me even more excited about studying medicine in the future” - Jessica

“Through the partnership, I was able to shadow various accomplished individuals working at the medical centre. More importantly, I had the opportunity to converse with people who are currently working in the space that I plan to in my life. Through their insightful advice and the truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, my love for the industry only grew” – Ken

A huge thank you to Andrew Cohen and the entire ForHealth team for opening doors, sharing their time, and championing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

On Friday night, a group of Skyline students attended the Newman College Forum Dinner alongside Skyline Program Manager, Martha ❤️🤍⭐️

The evening gave students the opportunity to hear firsthand about the university experience, connect with current residents, and learn more about future study pathways.

Students came away feeling inspired and excited by what’s possible for their futures. A highlight of the night was speaking with a student ambassador who shared valuable insights and practical advice about the application process and life at university.

A big thank you to Newman College for hosting such an engaging evening. Experiences like this give students a chance to ask questions, hear real stories about university life, and start thinking more confidently about their own next steps ✨
