🏆 WE’RE HEADING TO THE AWARDS!

Wednesday 5th & Thursday 6th August while our team travels to Sydney to attend the 2026 Youth Week Awards. ✨

We’re so proud to be representing our young people and all the incredible work that has happened throughout Youth Week 2026.

Thank you to our young people, community partners and everyone who helped make this year’s Youth Week so special. This recognition belongs to all of you too. 🫶

We’re so proud to share that Council’s Youth Services team has taken out a Highly Commended in the Community Development (Population Under 100,000) category at the 2026 NSW Local Government Excellence Awards for this year's Youth Week program!

This recognition speaks to the effort behind the program, especially from the Youth Services team, local partners and the young people who help make it what it is.

The Youth Booth was recognised for the way it works alongside young people, giving them an active role in planning, decision-making and delivering activities that support confidence, skills, wellbeing and connection.

This is a well deserved recognition for Glen Innes Youth and the people behind it👏

🙌 My Culture. My Pride 🙌

The My Culture. My Pride Youth Week 2026 event was a sell-out success, drawing an incredible crowd and showcasing the power of culture, creativity, and identity.

Proudly hosted by an inspiring
First Nations youth crew member, who played a key role in shaping and delivering the program, this event created a space for young people to express who they are and what they stand for.

The creativity on display was amazing, young people designed and created their own personalised hoodies, each one telling a unique story.
The final pieces were truly inspiring, reflecting pride, identity, and connection to culture 💛🖤❤️

A powerful reminder that culture is something that defines us all, and something we should always be proud of.

Have your say: NSW’s new Strategic Plan for Children and Young People.

The , led by the Advocate for Children and Young People is developing a statewide, whole-of-government plan to improve outcomes for children and young people aged 0 to 24 years.

The Plan will focus on systemic issues impacting children and young people, and make sure that their voices are included in decision-making. You can provide feedback in any of the following ways:
- Complete the short online survey.
- Make a written submission.
- Register for an online workshop if you are aged 14 to 24 years old.
