Glebe TreeHouse

Glebe TreeHouse A play-based community centre within Glebe Public School for young children 0-8 and their families to play, learn, grow and connect.

The Glebe Tree House is a safe place for families in Glebe, based inside Glebe Public School. It’s a program called a School as Community Centre – and its main goal is to provide support and opportunities for children – especially in the years before they start school. Inside the Glebe Tree house and around the community we run a wide range of programs including playgroups, parent groups, literacy

programs, health and education programs and family support workers – with one focus – to support families who have little kids. The early years of a child’s life are known to be where the foundations of learning and living get laid down – they are an important time – and the most important people in that child’s life are their parents. As we all know, being a parent is a wonderful and demanding job – and at times it can be a tough job. This centre is here to provide a bit of respite – relief and support to families! If you or someone you know might benefit from having a place like this to visit – come climb up the stairs to the Glebe Tree House – sit down have a cuppa and a yarn , the kids can play and play and play and be kids. And be reminded that the work you are doing of being a family – is the most important work in the world.

Today marks the anniversary of the official recognition of the Torres Strait Islander Flag.

Designed by the late Bernard Namok from Thursday Island, the flag was officially recognised on 29 May 1992 and stands as a proud symbol of Torres Strait Islander identity, culture and connection.

Acknowledging significant moments like this helps create opportunities for learning, reflection and meaningful conversations in classrooms and communities.

Children are at risk in the driveway – help keep them safe
1. Never let children play around vehicles
2. Let them play in yards and other fenced areas not the driveway
3. If necessary keep them inside, behind a locked door or gate, if the vehicle is being moved
4. Alternately keep the child/children in the car … buckled up in their child car seat until the vehicle is safely parked and adult is available to remove child and relocate to a safe area
5. Before getting in your car to leave … ALWAYS …walk around the vehicle to make sure children are not near the car or on the driveway

🪻 Sorry Day 2026 🪻

We discussed the sad and traumatic experience of children being taken away we paid tribute to the Stolen Generation, offer apologies, and acknowledge the lasting impact on families.

We appreciate our playgroup's dedication to educating ourselves about the true significance of Sorry Day to our First Nations Communities.

On Monday the MyTime group would like some privacy as they navigate a recent loss of a Mum in their circle who has been attending our centre for years. AKA

Community can still attend Music with Kane 930am or Nature Play 10am and if you are attending the Step Into Work please arrive no earlier than 11.55am with kids. You can meet Helen at the steps near Treehhouse until MyTimers leave. Let's honour their time and space from 10am -12pm by keeping Treehouse for them only.

Thank you for understanding 💜
