Burawa National Indigenous Careers Centre

Burawa National Indigenous Careers Centre BURAWA – MOVING OUR MOB UPWARDS

Burawa is a Darug/ Dharug nation language word translating to 'up' or 'upwards'.

We provide culturally appropriate support and tailored education pathways, to fill the gap between casual employment, and professional career confidence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults across Australia. In consultation with Darug community members, Elders and language specialists, Tranby has been given permission to use this word to communicate our dream of a culturally-safe and c

ulturally meaningful careers support service

Burawa will be the first of its kind in Australia. Run by Tranby National Indigenous Adult Education and Training. Our service assists Indigenous career seekers in finding the employment and/or vocational education and training pathways that are best suited to them and their families or communities. At its core, Burawa is about providing access to relevant information and enhancing the opportunities available to Indigenous peoples, empowering them to achieve their dream career pathways. Burawa will support Indigenous job seekers to walk their career pathway rather than settle into casual or part-time positions that do not align with their skills, dreams and ambitions.
