Roseberry Qld is offering a range of free family-focused programs in Rockhampton designed to help children, parents and caregivers thrive:

💙 Care & Connect
A play-based parent and child program that strengthens connection, emotional regulation, mindfulness and self-awareness through shared activities and reflection.
💙 Steps to Stability
A 10-week program supporting parents of young children to build resilience, develop practical life skills and create greater stability within the family home.
💙 Friends for Life
An evidence-based 10-week program for children aged 8-12 years, helping them develop confidence, emotional regulation skills, resilience and positive social connections.
💙 Adult Resilience: Strong Not Tough
Designed for parents and caregivers whose children are participating in Friends for Life, this program provides practical coping strategies, resilience-building skills and tools to support children's learning at home.

These programs provide valuable opportunities for families to connect, learn and grow together while building the skills needed to navigate life's challenges. ✨

Massive thanks to ACCIONA Energía for their investment in the Gladstone community and their recognition of the challenges many local people are facing.

🌟$40,000 invested in the Roseberry Qld Dignity Hub
🌟$50,000 invested at The Shelter Collective

The Dignity Hub exists to make sure people experiencing hardship can access practical support with dignity, whether that's food relief, a hot meal, a shower, laundry facilities or help connecting to other services.

Demand has grown significantly. Over the past year we've seen a huge increases in demand. Over the 24/25 Financial year we had 3895 visits, in 25/26 that was 7157.

What we're seeing reflects the broader pressures facing our community, with rising housing costs and cost of living challenges affecting more people than ever before.

This funding will help us strengthen our capacity to respond to that growing demand and ensure people can continue accessing support when they need it most.

Partnerships like this are critical. Community organisations cannot address these challenges alone, and we're grateful to have partners like Acciona prepared to invest in real, local support.

This announcement is important because it supports both immediate needs through the Dignity Hub and longer-term housing outcomes through The Shelter Collective project.

Ultimately, this investment means more people in Gladstone will be met with dignity, care and practical support during some of the their toughest times.

Amazing Pride Formal held in Rockhampton over the weekend! Way to go headspace Rockhampton for putting on an incredible event.

Last night we celebrated Wear It Purple Day with our biannual Pride Formal - an event for LGBTQIA+SB Young People to get a second chance to celebrate a rite of passage.

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, celebrates the many different forms of courage shown by LGBTQIA+SB young people, allies and communities every day. Courage can look like speaking up, standing out and creating change. It can also take quieter forms of bravery, like living authentically, coming out, asking for support, standing beside someone, or choosing pride and hope in spaces where being yourself does not always feel easy. The colours in this year’s theme reflect the diversity of identities, experiences and stories within our communities. Like light through a prism, every colour is different, but together they create something powerful. Colours of Courage recognises the bravery it takes to push for change in schools, workplaces, communities and institutions where conversations about LGBTQIA+SB lives do not always happen. It celebrates the allies who choose to stand up, speak out and ask what they can do to help create safer, more inclusive spaces. It also honours the courage of generations of LGBTQIA+SB people who came before us, and the strength of young people today as they continue to build community, connection and visibility. Because courage is not only found in the big moments. It is found in the everyday choices to live proudly, support others and invite people into understanding, acceptance and celebration.

💜 A Call to the Gladstone community

For years, the Coordinated Community Response to Domestic and Family Violence - Gladstone has helped make our community safer through domestic and family violence education, awareness campaigns, school programs and support initiatives for victim-survivors. Their volunteers have made a lasting impact across our region.

Now, this vital volunteer-run organisation needs new committee members to step forward. Without new people to help lead the group, CCRDFV may be forced to cease operating. Please consider getting involved and helping ensure this important work continues.

📣 Call to Action: Are you our next Chairperson or Treasurer?

Last night we held the CCRDFV Annual General Meeting.

Unfortunately, we were unable to fill the required committee positions needed for the organisation to continue.

As a result, a new AGM has been scheduled for Tuesday, 1st September. This meeting will determine the future of CCRDFV.

CCRDFV has been built by community, for community. Over the years, together we have raised awareness, supported those impacted by domestic and family violence, honoured lives lost, and advocated for a safer future across our region. This work only continues because volunteers are willing to step forward.

If you have ever attended one of our events, supported our campaigns, or believe this work matters, now is the time to consider becoming involved.

Committee roles don't require you to have all the answers, just a willingness to contribute, work alongside others, and help ensure this important work continues.

If we are unable to fill the positions of Chairperson and Treasurer at the next AGM, CCRDFV may be forced to cease operating.

We were delighted that headspace Gladstone was selected as one of this years Tannum Crab Classic. This great community event has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars back to our community to help support local organisations.

headspace will be using the donation to deliver programs that help young people build skills, understand their emotions, build confidence and connection to better navigate life’s challenges.

Thank you to the Crab Classic team and to everyone who attended the event, bought raffle tickets and bid on crabs. You're deadset claw-some! 🦀

It's times like this that words just don't seem like enough. So we will simply say THANK YOU! Gladstone Engineering Alliance

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported the GEA Charity Golf Day presented by Aestec Services, and helped make a real difference.

Thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors, donors and volunteers, together we raised an amazing $11,415 for Roseberry QLD Dignity Hub! 👏

As if that wasn't enough, the fantastic team from Roseberry also raised an additional $790 through their fundraising activities on Hole 1. Every dollar will help support people in our local community experiencing hardship and ensure they can access essential dignity items when they need them most.

Events like these are about so much more than a day on the golf course—they're about our community coming together to support one another, and this incredible result is a testament to that spirit.

From everyone at GEA, thank you to every player, sponsor, prize donor, volunteer and supporter who contributed to making this day such a success. Your generosity will have a lasting impact.
