Over the weekend we held our second MAD Camp of the year, and although it has been a few camps since Phoebe attended camp, we still felt as though a part of our MAD Family was missing.
Pheobe was an incredible young lady, she was smart, funny, and would lighten the mood no matter how tough one of our sessions were. She was strong, brave and outspoken, she wasn't afraid to tell us how she felt, or make sure everyone used their manners, especially toward our MAD Cooks. She was bold, and fearless, she would get mad because the boys didn't want to play footy with her because she would tackle too hard. She was soft, gentle, and loving, she would always make sure everyone in the MAD Family was supported and looked after, no matter how seasoned they were. To Phoebe, the small things mattered, from jumping out of a car at a servo just to give someone from their MAD Family a Hug, to laughing at the really bad Dad jokes, even if they weren't funny she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome and loved. We love you Phoebe, and we will miss you until it's our turn to meet again. You can rest now, in the peace that you deserve knowing the same love that you made everyone around you feel, has reached more people than you could imagine. You may not be with us in person, but you will forever be in our hearts and minds.
This loss has hit our MAD Family really hard, in this time of grief, hurt and sadness, it's important for our MAD Family to grab their MAD Cards (maybe even ones that Phoebe has written in), and wrap up in our love wraps so we can all feel the love and be that much closer to her again.
If you need any support in this time, please reach out to your support person, a leader, or a trusted adult. This pain is felt by more than just our MAD Family, you are not alone.
Please use our comments section as a place of reflection on what a beautiful person Phoebe was, let's share stories, memories, photos, anything you wish.
