Message from our President Matt Griffiths:

For those members interested in what this trip is about, it’s a little bit reunion, a lot of connection with Rotary Clubs especially our sister club RC Pashupati-KTM, fact finding potential global grants projects particularly in medical, maternity, water, sanitation and health.

Tomorrow is my last full day and the itinerary is

10:00 pick up from Hotel
10:45 Reach Kirtipur Burn Hospital
11:00 Meeting/ Presentation about project proposal
11:45 Move to next project site
12:15 Reach Patopakar Maternity Hospital
12:30 visit Project site
1:00 Return to Hotel

It’s been an interesting experience and look forward to discussing it with our club and district on my return.

Our President Matt Griffiths in a cooking class at Sungabha Nepal. Sungabha Nepal was formally Seven Women that Stephanie Woollard started at age 22 after meeting seven disabled women working in a tin shed in Kathmandu. These seven women were struggling to make a living in the face of harsh discrimination. With her last $200, Steph paid for a trainer to teach the women how to produce products for sale locally and abroad.
While the name has changed, the mission remains steadfast—empowering individuals and communities in Nepal to create sustainable, long-term impact.

Our President Matt Griffiths is in Nepal and of course has given the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel-Nepal a couple of Polio Koalas. He sent the following message:

“I just had the absolute pleasure of meeting with Ranjeev Shrestha from Rotary Club of Dhulikhel-Nepal.
We shared ideas and hope to be able to work together in the future.
Our club D9560 Passport Rotary gifted a Polio Koala and I gifted one for his daughter who advocates for the global vaccination of Polio.

I’m definitely feeling my age but am always inspired by the generosity of spirit in so many I meet here”.

It was welcome news for RYDA at the Bundaberg Regional Council ordinary meeting when the vote was unanimous to wave the fees for this year’s event at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct.
