Today I was presented with an exceptional donation for QAS legacy from the staff of the United Workers Union! A massive $2500 was raised for the cause.

This is another example of the level of support from our UWU staff that work tirelessly to support and represent the staff. Thank you UWU!

Day 14!!!

I’ve done it. I am staying 10km from my finish point tonight. I will be having a family breakfast then taking a short 10km stroll to Wynnum tomorrow.

We will have a meet point at BP service station on the corner of Wynnum and Manly roads at 1200 for those who would like to take a walk. This is a 5km walk. If prefer jump in during the last few kms. We will be heading down to Wynnum Tavern on Wynnum rd.

Today I spent the day walking through wetlands and conquering the gateway bridge with my sister. We have both finished the day with sore feet but the spirits are so high.

I would like to say a massive thank you to my support crew, Al, Karlee, Lauren, Lisa, Mark, Craig and my parents. Also to all of my sponsors, combined services, young veterans, RSL sub branch, Northstar Yamaha, Glenn Butcher, walking for Warriors and ASN. Without them I would have succeeded in this adventure. Also thank you to Wide Bay team for making the first half of my trip so supported.

Thank you for all the donations. This is a fantastic result for the QAS legacy scheme.

Day 13

Well I have officially made it to Brisbane. What a journey. Tomorrow I will head towards The bayside over the gateway bridge. One more big challenge before preparing for my final destination.

I can’t thank those people that have been my support enough. The generosity of your time and efforts have been outstanding.

Today I got to walk into Northstar Yamaha at North lakes. Thank you for your ongoing support.

I am getting very close to the fundraising goal which makes what I have endured very well worth it.

I am feeling very excited to get to the end point. Only minor muscle cramps today which is fantastic considering what they have accomplished.

I will be coming into Wynnum Tavern on Saturday at 1pm and would love to see some of you there for a celebration of the stroll.

Donations are still coming in which is great. I am so much closer to the goal.
I was back onto the highway today. It felt like coming home 😂

Day 9

Today we left my Uncle and Aunty’s place, my Mum and Dad left us and Craig from W4W has joined us for a night of camping and ready to walk the next few days with us. Welcome to party!!

I have now finished my leg of the Bruce Highway and traded it in for the sand. Gee I’m going to miss the sounds smells and truck dodging of the Bruce. It’s been my constant for the past 9 days. I am now going to be following the coast roads.

Thank you again for everyone following and supporting QAS legacy.

Day 7

Oh wow!! I’ve made it half way. What an incredible feeling hitting that milestone in my journey.

I was met in Tiaro by the amazing members of the RSL sub branch. They were so welcoming and donated a fantastic amount to the legacy fund and has also shouted dinner! Thank you so much. This support in invaluable.

Today I said goodbye to Al and Lauren. What a support you two have been. Through the tears and tantrums we made it through. I can not thank you enough. I also had a surprise drop in by the Trute’s. Thank you for stopping and lifting my spirits.

Now this half I welcome my family and am looking forward to bossing them around 😂

Day 6
Today was Childers to Torbanlea. It was a fantastic day. It was cooler which helped significantly. There was some heavy rain which impeded on visibility. The decision was made to head onto the back roads for safety. Same Kms accomplished.

I was contacted by ABC radio and do an interview. They got the sound of me dodging trucks 🤣.

Had Kev stop to say hi on his way to Gladstone from VIC. Welcome to Queensland!

Can’t wait to hit the half way mark tomorrow and meet up with my family.
