Last Meeting Rotary 2025-26 year.

This Thursday, we heard from our incoming President, Mark Greenaway, as he shared his plans and priorities for the 2026–27 Rotary year. It was great to hear about the opportunities ahead and the direction of the club for the coming year.

Shelly also delivered a fantastic International Toast. Her message was both inspiring and moving, reminding us of Rotary’s impact around the world and the importance of service above self.

Thank you, Mark and Shelly, for your presentations and for an enjoyable evening.

Looking forward to seeing you next Thursday in our hand over dinner.

An Inspiring Evening with Sandra and Reg Pugh

This week, we were privileged to welcome Sandra Pugh, who shared the story behind the Great Queensland Rail Trail Adventure – Ride for Research 2026.

In July 2026, riders will take on an incredible challenge, cycling more than 600 kilometres from Gladstone to Brisbane over five days, travelling along three historic Queensland rail trails. But this ride is about much more than the kilometres covered. It is raising vital funds and awareness for Rare Ovarian Cancer Research, helping to fund life-changing research and work towards a cure for women and girls affected by this disease. (ROC Inc.)

Through previous Ride for Research events, more than $400,000 has already been raised for Rare Ovarian Cancer research, with the 2026 campaign aiming to raise even more. (ROC Inc.)

Sandra's presentation was both moving and inspiring, highlighting the power of community, determination, and the difference that can be made when people come together behind an important cause.

Thank you, Sandra, for sharing this incredible journey with us and for helping raise awareness of rare ovarian cancer. We wish all riders and supporters every success as they prepare for this remarkable adventure.
